In what for a class would i have to go?

now i'm 14 and i am going in the 7th class in germany. Maybe I have to live for one or two months by my grandma in LA. In what for a class would I have to go if i go to the high school??

we dont have "classes" in the US. do you mean grade? if you are 14, you would be my little sisters age and she is a freshman (9th grade) in high school.
