Usually it's on the top line.

There are several lines in the FAFSA questionnaire that asks for information from the tax return.

Read the fafsa........if the question is asking for adjusted gross income it will say form 1040....line 37. ... taxes paid....form 1040.....line 57, etc.

If the line from the tax form is blank or a negative...put a zero on the FAFSA form.
