In what part of downtown houston can i meet new and interesting friends to make?

You need to stay in the northern half of Downtown. Anything below McKinney is going to be useless for nightlife. The Theater District is good, you can make conversation there and know you're meeting someone with at least one common interest. There's also nightclubs up there like Rocbar and a pool hall called Slick Willie's. Take your pick, basically.
