Question:

In what season do rabbits normally give birth?

My cat recently caught a little rabbit and I'm not sure about what to feed it due to not knowing its age. It would help to know the normal months that rabbits give birth so that I can sort of figure out approximately how old this baby is. Does anyone know around what month mother rabbits typically give birth?

  1. Wild rabbits begin giving birth in the Spring (April) and have 2-3 litters a season. They can mate and kindle about every 30 days. Wild rabbits are born with fur and open eyes. They are ready to leave the mother's care after just 2 weeks and then begin living on their own.

(This is for the Eastern Cottontail which is the wild rabbit around where I live)

So they can give birth from April to october basically

  2. There is no season for rabbits to give birth, it happens when it happens.

  3. I dont really know but put her in a box with some shaving or hay or something and figure it out quickly, maybe you can search it on a website?Anyways good luck with you rabbit.

  4. In the warm summer months
