  1. Well for one thing he is probably responsible for more vs questions on here then anything else, and is probably one of the biggest "cult of personality" figures on here.

That being said he was by all beleivable accounts an excellent martial artist and he did a lot to premote martial arts, so for that he should be commended.

However people seem to disregard the fact that he never got beyond the surface in any style that he tarined in. He studied Wing Chun for 4 years, and that is barely enough time to start to understand basic motion. His outlook on forms is also flawed, but I think this comes from his lack of in depth training in any one style. All these people that say kata is worthless because Bruce Lee said so are clueless. If he said you can jump off that building and live they would probably try it.

You can give me all the thumbs down you want, but tehe statement about him never training one style for long enough to truly understand it(except maybe for his own) is fact.

  2. He dared to be different and break away from the traditional . He was fast and had good philosophy and developed his own system of fighting and died under mysterious circumstances which to this day people talk about. like Elvis Presley was the king of rock to some, Bruce Lee was The King of of Martial arts heroes.

  3. He was really talented and really famous.

He was hard worker and very dedicated to martial arts.

He's an inspiration. (Though I prefer Jackie Chan. ^^)

  4. he was the first to teach martial arts to non asian people. He also introduced more realistic fighting in his movies, even though only one movie made it to america, afterwhich he died shortly thereafter.

  5. Television

  6. in the senses of sight and hearing

  7. if you watch the bio-pic of his life , it will explain a lot.

due to times when he was around , and who he had as a wife things were very different to how they are now.

he did make it more popular, he also had a karate school also.

as for jackie chan.. his golden harvest films are far better than the US stuff.. (samo features in some of his films)

  8. I think he was probably the greatest ambassador for the martial arts in his time and even way past his time.  How many people did not start at martial art after having seen one of his movies.  I think it was good how he tried to innovate the principles of martial arts but totally cutting with the traditional ways would not be my way about it.

  9. He brought martial arts into the big screen for the rest of the world PERIOD

  10. One inch punch!
