In what size word font are novels usually written in?

Times New Roman font, size 12.

Times New Roman (12) is the most popular, but publishers accept Ariel & Courier (also 12, but I'm a little hazy since I don't use them much.

Check the specifications from the publisher before submitting.

Once it's in the publisher's hands they'll decide ultimately what is used.  Lots of times at the very end of a book there will be a page describing the font.

Times New Roman size 12, but it depends on the agent or publisher.  Font is easily changeable to meet these needs at a later time though.
