One of my life goals is to see a tornado (and hopefully live to tell about it!) and I need to know where I can visit where I'll be the most likely to see one while I'm there.

What season is the best???

Thanks.

  1. usually in kansas. the best time is spring to early summer.

  2. Tornado Alley.

  3. I would say Oklahoma.

  4. kansas/

    april-may

  5. Well the best time to go is April and May. The states with the most tornados are Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Texas Panhandle and Missouri. Go in one of those areas in the springtime, especially in the Northern parts of texas, and you'll see some tornados.

  6. Texas has the most tornadoes per square mile.  They can occur at any time of the year, but April and May are the best time there.  There is also an area in southern Oklahoma, along a line between Wichita Falls, TX and OKC, which is the hottest tornado activity spot in the US.  Your best bet is not to try it yourself but to go on one of the storm chasing tours.  There are quite a few businesses now that are owned and run by professional meteorologists/storm chasers who know when and where to go while still remaining safe.

  7. Texas and all the southern states around it to

  8. The primary area of the United States in which significant tornadoes occur most often is in an L-shaped region from Iowa to Oklahoma to Mississippi, with the highest threat in Oklahoma. In addition, this area has a consistent season each year – from April through mid-June, with the most tornadoes normally occurring in May. These two facts – the conjunction of high frequency of strong and violent tornadoes and the relative consistency of the season from year to year from north Texas up into western Iowa – provide a natural, objective way to define Tornado Alley.

  9. There's a nifty graph right here - http://www.tornadochaser.net/images/freq... - showing the frequency of Tornadoes.  Tornadoes mostly occur in the Fort Worth, Texas and central Oklahoma area.

  10. states that lie in the great plains have a high chance of tornadoes. i'd say oklahoma, kansas and nebraska are places where tornadoes occur.
