In what stores could I find a barometer and a hygrometer?

I'm trying to find a cheap barometer and a hygrometer for a science project, but am having trouble locating them in local stores. Any ideas what stores would carry them? I'm in Atlanta, by the way.

  1. I would check Radioshack, which carries some various weather instruments.  But some additional tips while you're looking...and if you decide to look somewhere other than Radioshack:

    1) You'll probably have a hard time finding a stand alone barometer and hygrometer (especially the latter).  Try doing a general search for "weather stations", and make sure they measure pressure and relative humidity, which are the two variables you are interested in.  I have an indoor/outdoor weather station at home that measures temperature, relative humidity, and pressure...I believe it was from Radioshack for around $30.

    2) Look for barometric pressure and relative humidity sensors.  The average Joe would have no clue what a hygrometer is, so in your average stores it is not likely marketed as a hygrometer, but a relative humidity sensor.

    3) I don't think you'll have a hard time finding a weather station that measure relative humidity...but just in case, keep in mind that if you know temperature and dewpoint, you can calculate the relative humidity.

    Hope that helps!
