In what way I can find foreign friends to improve my English?

Question

I'm italian, I'm 20 and I attend the second year of university in Ferrara. I'd like to have lots of foreign friends, if someone can help me...thanks!!

Any city or town worth anything has an Irish bar in it.  Go there and hang out.  You could even get yourself a boyfriend/girlfriend and then your English will be superb after a few arguments.

Well, if you're in Milan, there's a Toastmasters Club.  Toastmasters is an international club that practices giving presentations and speeches in English.  I visited one in Shanghai, and it was very professional and friendly.

There are also study abroad programs that are usually available through your university's English department if you want to study for a semester or two in the U.S. or Britain.

And I'm not sure how it works over there, but usually in big cities at least in China, there is at least one American bar, where English-speaking people hang out.
