They play a huge role in global warming by squirting black ink into the oceans.  The darker the ocean, the more energy is absorbed and so the water heats up!  I saw Jean-Michel Cousteau knock the pie squat out of several octopi at his Fiji Islands Resort beacuse they were all gassed up on mai tais and were squirting too much.

The magnificent Octopi is a catalyst and a half. By squeezing the juice out of a human it eliminates the CO2 emissions from that human. For this reason I keep those wonderful creatures in a large tank in my boudoir where they are most useful to me.
