Have you chosen the Organic over Synthetic? Or just recycling?. Theirs no getting away from it. The "Going Green craze is everywhere now. Who would want to get away from it? Its helping the Earth. Its even starting to be a fashion statement. People are wearing shirts that say something about going green, diffrent companies are putting it on their products-like Pepsi for example. Are you happy this craze has finally came? And do you think people could be doing alot more?

  1. I use CFLs, turn down my thermostat, recycle, conserve water, and try not to create extra waste. I also love the concept of renewable energy and wish that I had the means to install solar panels on my home or a wind turbine in my yard.

The theory of going green is great, the craze is not. Manufacturers and retailers are capitalizing on it to help sell their products. Earth Day is also a nice idea, but every day should be an Earth Day. Recycling has been around for a long time. Car manufacturers were once in a race to build more fuel efficient cars until people wanted bigger ones with more power. Now we're paying for it.

The "green" concept has been around forever. Now that it's becoming a fad, I don't see the need to buy a T-shirt to show my support for it.

  2. I have been green for a long time, I don't buy small plastic bottles of water, I use a thermos instead, although I have to buy them on occasion.   We recycle here in California, I don't drive unless I have too, and then I bundle my trips, regarding the lady worried about water, it is my understanding that water never disappears, it just changes forms.  Wish we had some of that Texas overflow her in California.  Yes people could be doing more, some still don't care or don't believe we have a problem.

  3. people should be doing alot more. yes i am happy that the craze has come aroud. cause people should have been started recycling years ago and thinking about the planet.   but its good that people are doing alot more now!!

  4. Well first off I need to say I agree with G.

I have felt that those shirts are pretty cool but sometimes I feel people just want to wear them without doing anything for our home and advertising it in a "fashion" way or atleast want recognition for it and we shouuld do it for the animals, nature humanrace, and  respect most definitely.

Okay so what am I doing...I know I'm not perfect I'm trying and seeking for knowledge to pursue this and pass the word along to my family.

I take shorter showers and I miss my relaxing showers but I do that once a month not often at all.

I take 5 min. showers mostly I wash my hair 2 a wk at the most.

When I do wash my hair I take 10-15 min. My sister takes 45 min. to an hour and that is toooooo much!

I recycle everything that is possible to recycle. When I buy sauces in glass containers I keep them and wash them to be used for juice/water containers for my lunch or to store leftovers.

I make sure everylight in the house is being used not just on for no reason.

I use only one glass of water for the whole day..to decrease washing alot of dishes which increases water.

    I don't use electronics: treadmill to exercise I walk/jog/run and I take my sister's dog =)

Instead of throwing away bread I make it into pieces and serve them to the birds in my garden.

Im hearing about this compost and Im willing to try it ...Im sooo excited!

  5. I think taking cloth bags to the grocery store is a very good idea..turn off lights that aren't being used..turn the water off while brushing..and teaching our children and grandchildren to do these things..also I hate trash and litter my family and I pick up litter along the road side in our neighborhood..God blessed us with a beautiful world and we have slapped him in the face by not taking care of it..

  6. Happy Earth Day!!!!!!!!! I am recycling, turning light off, (i get home and i dont turn the lights on until everyone gets home: 2 hours), I am picking up any trash i see on the streets or sidewalks, I made posters for earth day, I am helping to save the ocean, I am vegan, I AM AN EARTH MANIAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Being vegan and eating less meat helps the earth because animals need more water and plants dont so it saves water for the earth!!!!!!!

  7. I am a green Warrior

    I worry about nature

and try to change some ugly and boring places

    into beautiful productive ones

  8. i am very happy that everyone is getting more aware! Its helping the earth in many ways. I am helping by wearing shirts that make a stament about this and they r made of 100% recycled materials. I am also recylceing alot more. Me n my family r trying 2 take shorter showers 2 save water. My class calls me a tree hugger cuz im so happy that this is going on!

    I hope ur helping 2!

    YAY!!! Go Green!

  9. YES !! we are doing more and more every day to go green. Do i think others could be doing more? you betcha, many people in my neighborhood have recycling bins in their yards and i always see them throw their newspapers in the garbage not recycling.  I have a pre-schooler who looks on everything now and says "look Mom it has arrows it can be recycled"  you are never to young or too old to recycle, and go green.  Sooo happy the craze is here.

  10. Yeah I bought some hemp clothing as well as organic American Spirit cigarettes.  Maybe if we all held ice cubes, like around the world, we might stop global warming.

  11. My husband has set up a 55 gal drum that the washing machine dumps into.  Her fixed it with a pump and when we wash I move the sprinkler where ever the yard needs watering.  A washing machine use 40 gal.s of water per load.  I have the greenest yard around here.  The soap kills all the bugs.

  12. Happy Earth day!!!!!!!  IT not right!  we take so much from the Earth and give so little bach!   Also we had a law almost passed (for the U.S.A) saying "for every tree we cut down we have to plant 10 more"   but it wasn't passed-ugh!-it so sould have been.  I belive that it's majorly not enough of a big deal.  Call me a tree huger for now, you'll be just the same in 2040's when all of earth's beautiful beaches are flooded by global warming (yes, at this rate that will happen).

Anyway we are planted a tree.  WE do mostevery thing else every day :)like: recyle, don't throw away bio-degraible stuff (compost),have lots of plants, coose as much organic as possible,  chooose better cars, ect.

  13. I can't wait until the economy crashes or we have another Great Depression. Than we'll see who's who and what is truely green.

Prehaps we'll get a glimps how 95% of the rest of the world lives in this day of age. Until than, I have very little hope. Like you mentioned it all seems like a fashion. All fog and mirrors.

People only concider the past 100 years to be the only history human kind has ever had. What about the thousands and thousands of years where lived of the land. It's only been in this short period of time, the past 100 years, where everything started to become crazy. For todays children, the craziness is the norm now.

I bike to a small local organic farm where I work. Amonst all the other jobs that are out there, I consider It one of the environmentally friendly occupations around. I could be working in a factory building cars making alot more money, but that would only fuel the destruction of Earth and everything in it. Thats the sacrafic I make. It's not to bad,..it feels good to live.

  14. I cook for 3 days at one time, saves on electrics

  15. I can't say I am going green, because growing up I always was "green" it was just the way I was raised.  I think, like losing weight and anything else, has to become a lifestyle change.  Not just a "everyone else is doing it" campaign.  In many ways, for the big companies, it is just another marketing campaign to make money.
