  1. BY HAVING THEIR OWN RULES.

  2. A lot, they boost the youth spirit to strife for the best...

  3. No offense to bignic (a few answers up) but you have no idea what you are talking about. In Australia we have football which is nothing like your wussy game. There is no protective gear like your players. Ours play in shorts and tops. You would find that kids here think that our game is alot tougher and realise that the players are stronger and don't need to protect themselves like the Americans do. We play the game like it's meant to be played. Kids look up to our footballers as heroes. They are role models and most boys want to be like their favourite football player. They get out in the playground kicking the footy with their friends and imaging they are, in my sons case, Travis Cloke. Go Collingwood!!!

  4. they dont

  5. Wow features question

  6. For sure : European footballer`s salary and the women surrond them

  7. They are role models as many youth look up to them.

  8. The question was "In what ways do football players influence the youth?". Why has it been suffixed with "in Australia" on its link to the homepage?

By the way, football players influence the youth to be more energetic & fighting spirited.

  9. In positive ways - players are great role models for our kids (despite some on field brawls), encouraging them to get out of the house and keep fit while having fun in a team sport, rather than sitting on their ever growing arses playing playstation games and feeding their faces with family size bags of chips and Maccas burgers.

Lets not let our kids follow the obesity trend that many in the US are so keen to indulge themselves in.

  10. Should be a good one look at the Boro squad. Schwarzer & Viduka. Hope that helps.

  11. the youth looks up to them as role models and EVERYTHING they do affect the kids, and they want to be like them

  12. it shows youth that they can have fun without getting in trouble

  13. I think it is because it is tough to play football so it is inspirational

  14. I think theye would like to continue with this sports. theye

have there own sports but why coudn't theye practice this one. i think it's atractive because it's not an old traditional game.

  15. in austrila i think nobody even knows that there is even a austrilian football team. In the united states of america period.

  16. i think cause in australia there is no football but instead there is rugby. I think youth in australia that play rugby gets influence by football here in north america cause in here, we wear protective gears, get payed high for those wo are very good in this sport, and it has a lot more action than rugby.

  17. They look up 2 them

  18. Footballers influence youth greatly knowing this as i am only 14 my self and boys notice that teenage girls drool over David beckham and it gives them the incentive to exercise and try to get fit like these footballers to attract girls and to be better than there mates that of course is a pride issue!

  19. No self respect so they look for it in others?

  20. by win there games all the time

  21. Football, (or Footie as it it commonly referred to as), is a national passion in Australia.   The amount of emotion and excitement that the Aussies have for their teams rivals any sport in any continent.  This admiration for the sport also carries with it an extreme responsibility for the players.  Australian youths view these players as heroes  that they look up to.  The behavior of footballers is scrutinized by the media and they are very much under the microscope.

  22. As with most, if not all professional sports, where youth see a pro sports career as a means to an end, there are many reasons how and why any singular sports' athletes or sport in general influence youth.

The varying dynamics of a country and the sport itself make a critical difference on how youth are affected and influenced by a sport.  Theoretically, it may not be solely the players themselves who influence youth, but rather, the sport played professionally and those few professional players who exemplify the best in the proud tradition and history of a sport who exhibit the positive sporting conduct in both spirit and exhibition on the playing field and in their private lives.

Role models?  Depends on which athletes are looked upon in a positive light and how they project themselves in their chosen sport and in their private lives.

Influence?  A choice by those who choose to follow those whom one looks up to for inspiration, guidance and dreams yet to be fulfilled.

Character.  The difference between simbply being a professional athlete out for selfish pleasure and pride who is compensated for a service provided to a team/club; OR being one that can positively influence the lives of millions in their professional presence in that athlete's public and private life and the wisdom to know that all the world is a stage and having a positive impact in their sport and in others' lives transcending the boundaries of their chosen sport for the greater good of their sport, their family, their community and their people as a whole.

Their actions.  Their behaviors.  Their everyday public lives.

  23. kids learn how to kick butts

  24. Girls might look up to football (soccer) stars. But any self respecting Aussie male would be playing a different sport and would not be influenced by soccer players antics.

  25. they are just role models

  26. Firstly to the uninformed and obviously uneducated (must be America). Nigelw13- you need to learn how to spell the name of a country (or continent) before attempting to respond to a question, it is Australia, not Austrilia, dummy.

Charliec-Over here we play Australian Rules Football, we also play Soccer and quite a few other ball sports, you obviously play your own ball sports, but hopefully in the privacy of your own bedroom. bignic-I think the only thing big about you is the d**k hanging off of your head. There is an old saying, 'if you have nothing intelligent to say, then say nothing at all'. Believe it or not people, America is not the only country in the world that plays football, whatever the way it is played. Get your collective head out of your collective arses.

  27. am not from australlia but in my opinion youth is more often influenced by celebrities who attain these certain qualities:

    1- money

    2- fame

    3- fitness

4- ease of starting relationships with other s*x

if you want our youth to be less affected you must promote movies about real life, hard working, achieving dreams and most importanly faith.

its not a problem in australlia only but everybody younger than 16 all over the world dreams of being a football star or an actor/actress or a singer.

i am an engineer and i had a chance to be in the movie business for my fair looks, but the problem is young people does not understand that if you ran out of food and money, you cant go act or sing to mcdonalds and expect a free meal.

you need to send a message of what really matters in life, like building and creating a civilization.

  28. They influence the young people that watch the sport, every time footy players make into the media because of rape allegations, drugs and alcohol abuse and things like that, it sends a bad message to young people that when you are a celeb you can do anything you want!

  29. It is very sad that answerers can't just answer the question and have to go into rubbish about Australian vs. American football.  All Australian football codes are very popular and they are exciting and different games.

Australian footballers, whether they be from AFL, NRL, Union or soccer, have a lot of influence on the youth.

When they are involved in positive activities like charity, Clean Up Australia Day, healthy lifestyle etc, they encourage young people to do the same.

When footballers have been involved in drugs, s*x scandals, drunken beahviour etc, these actions are quickly pounced on by the media and they are condemned.

The different football codes are all concerned about having a good reputation and positively influencing the young.  They even have programs where they visit schools and places where the young are.

  30. Is there any game other than cricket in Australia?

  31. in australia i know kids look on our footie players like heroes, they play a big part in what our kids do, if they see a their hero doing it they think its ok. i know its a big responsibility for players but thats the price you pay for being famous.
