  1. DNA is the code that is transcribed and translated into Proteins. DNA is first transcribed to mRNA which is then sent out of the Nucleus and a Ribosome translates the mRNA into a specific Protein.


  2. DNA is what codes for protein synthesis. Messenger RNA takes the message from DNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm where amino acids are brought to the growing protein strand by small rna strands called transfer RNA.    Every  3 "letters" in the DNA strand code for an amino acid.  The amino acids are attached to the growing protein strand by ribosomal RNA.
