Or does that even exist? I hear some men say that women want chivalry but are not willing to give it in return. If you are a man list what makes a woman chivalrous to you. This will be interesting to know. This is the one problem I have with men. They want something but wont come out an openly say what they want. Women are not mind readers.

  1. Stand up for him; from time to time even the protector needs protecting..

    Be courteous and kind.

    Kiss his hand

Build him up, coach him to do better, never nag, coach; you know encourage with kind words.

Tell him how wonderful he is

Reserve your phone calls for something cheerful.  For instance; call him just to wish him a happy new day, tell him that you love him.

The minute he start walks in the door don't start in with: "d**n those kids why that Buford he...." Good reason you're still most likely still upset and his reaction might cause you to be even more so; from there an argument might ensue.

Oh sure why not open a few doors; allow him to go first; it helps both of us to remember our manners.

  2. As for chivalry it ceased to exist in England in the mediaeval era but even then it was never a 'woman thing'. It was a code between warlords (knights) and if you think otherwise then you've been watching too many Hoyllywood films playing fast and loose with history.

I think what we're really talking about is mutual respect and courtesy, and yes, we need more of it and it is a two-way street. It is not take, take, take. It is give and take.

  3. My husband of 5 years opens and holds the truck door open for me, holds the doors open for me, helps me take in groceries and pulls my seat out for me before sitting down.  I don't ask him to do it, he was just brought up that way.  I get funny stares from other women when he does this in public.

  4. todays generation does not have the luxury of proper training but us old guys have no excuses for not being chivalrous. The only thing we ask in return is an acknowledgment and thanks for our efforts. Just because a woman doesnt need a man to hold the door doesnt mean she cant appreciate it and enjoy a gentleman's attention.

I was taking the train home from San Francisco and it was full, I had a seat more people got aboard and I gave up my seat as any man should to a woman. She happily took the seat but made no effort to thank me. Ill still always give up my seat but if i should see her again I will Offer it verbally to force a response. Its perfectly OK for a feminist to also try and be a lady.

  5. -Offer to drive

-Invite him to dinner and pay for both

-When you go in the kitchen ask him if he wants you to bring him anything

-Iron his clothes if he is running late

-Charge his cellphone at night if he doesnt mind you touching it

-When you buy anything little like even a toothbrush, buy him one too

  6. I think you better look up the definition and true meaning first:

Courtesy is something different, probably what you are talking about....Layla describes being courteous for your romantic partner well.

EDIT- Well then, you know you are using it incorrectly then.  But here is what a womans role is....in case you need a refresher:

EDIT-  Ahhh how refreshing.  A young one who thinks teachers know all.  Reminds me of my first graders.  You know after that they tend to realize teacher are actually human.  But I would expect you to know that since you are becoming a teacher yourself and have taken various classes in child development...right?  I don't know.  You might think we live at the school too...

  7. Do you know what the big word means?  I don't think so look it up.  As for the guy who says women should be lucky that they have a man willing to settle for them and only them I say no women settled with him.  Men are not a bunch of instinctual horn dogs humping every leg they see.  Some actually have evolved and no that the love of one women is better then bedding a thousand.
