  1. if you look in your text book you'll find out

  2. Greek civilization is older than Roman civilization. Greeks had everything.Art,education, army, cultural events, sports (olympic games),democracy. Many great philosophers were born or lived in Athens. Many natural phenomena was explained by greek scientists.Democracy was born in Athens.Spartans were great soldiers with great equipment.

  3. Actually, Rome was never the heir to the Greeks civillization.

  5. The Roman empire came after the Grecian empire.

  6. In many ways, Rome- though more militarily powerful by the time they began to expand, post Alexander the Great's death, among other things- respected Greek culture, and considered it superior to their own.  Note the incredible amount of Greek influence in classical Roman art, architecture, religion, etc.  It's much like the Assyrians felt about the Babylonians- they were rivals, to be sure, but there was a lot of,.... grudging respect, if you will, on the side of the Assyrians, who could have destroyed Babylon many times over the way they did others for lesser 'crimes' by the time they finally did.  Athens, specifically, was very much respected by Rome, who generally looked on it a bit like a very dangerous child, or, in typical Roman arrogance, they figured they could control Greece.  Clearly didn't work until they took it over utterly, but much of Greek culture remained.

  7. read a book. dumb dumb.

  8. Okay, Roman was this little tiny militaristic village in Italia while Ancient Greece was the cultural center of the universe.

    Greece had government.

    .... art.

    .... education.

    .....formal politics

    .....architecture

    .....developed highly advanced writing skills

    .....culture

    .....music

    .....plays

    .....theaters

    .....organized athletics

    .....the best weapons

    .....the best armor

    .....the best war machines

    .....the best philosophers

    .....the best scientists

    .....the best building techniques

    And the list goes on.

Rome had.... a little village of gung-ho soldiers.

(Even Greece beat them on that...with Sparta)

When Rome grew up it wanted to be EXACTLY like Greece.

Greece over time began to get weaker...with wars...desention...etc.

    Rome grew stronger....and bigger.

So big that one day they decided they would make Greece their own.

    So they took it.

    ALL OF IT.

    EVERYTHING.

    Including their Gods.

It was almost like the Romans didn't have an original thought in their heads.

After they took Greece they proceeded to take everything else.

Just like the Greek Alexander the Great did once long before.

Rome didn't so much INHERIT or BECOME HEIRS to Classical Greek Civilization.....they STOLE it.
