  1. I was 14 when I learned.  We had two year drivers ed seasons.  So I completed when  I was 16.

I still do not have my license cuz my temps keep expiring before I get the time to take the road test.

    I'm in Michigan.

  2. In high school I took drivers ed in the 10th grade. You could take it in any grade though because it was purely informational. But they had a separate "Behind the Wheel" class and you had to have your permit for that. Plus, that was an after school program that was optional.

But it depends on the state that you live in.

You should go to the DMV website of the state that you live in to get the specific rules. I think in all states you cannot get your license until you are at least 16 years old. At 15 you may qualify for your permit. Some states say you have to be 15 and 3 months.. so there is no exact answer... it depends. You most likely have to take some kind of road sign test in order to get your permit though.

Get to studying!  And good luck!

  3. My highschool never taught us how to drive. We had to go to a driving school. You had to be only 15 years old, didn't have to have a permit or anything. You get your permit at the DMV.

The age requirements are probably different from state to state though. I live in MD

  4. Many schools don't offer driver's education classes any more because of increasing requirements for academic testing and decreasing budgets.

  5. at the age of 15 or 16; you get your driver's license at the age of 16

  6. Agreed.  Used to be a class for older Juniors or Seniors.  It also gave the football coach something to teach.

However, with budget cuts, it was the first class to go, and the state had to pick it up.

Check your local state -- Division of Drivers License or Department of Motor Vehicles or something like that.  It will be on the state website -- it might be "org" instead of "com".

  7. Sophomore year you learn about driver's ed. You get your permit and license in some place around 16 and 16.5 years, but where i'm from, nj, 16 for permit, 17 to drive and get your license
