  1. The government has said incandescent bulbs will be phased out starting by 2012, but they may have to rethink the law. Flourescent bulbs can cause headaches, nausea, and other ills to sensitive people. It's one more stupid law that impinges on our freedom to choose.

  2. The same year our children start showing signs of mercury vapor poinsoning from broken compact flourescent bulbs.  Everything has it's price, and the change does mean less energy used, but more toxic chemicals in our homes and landfills.

  3. They've outlawed these bulbs for 2012 even though they cause no harm to anyone.

That's just one step on the way to a 1984 form of socialism.  They've already said they're going to outfit all homes in California with a thermostat that can be controlled by the government.

That way they can control the heat and cooling in your home.

All thanks to the global warming hoax.

I understand that most of the general public have seen through this hoax and most scientists now admit that it's not what kooks like Al Gore say it is, but it's too late because the politicians have bought the hoax, hook line and sinker.

And it makes sense that they would buy into the lie because it now gives them more control over human activity.  They must be extremely happy that so many uninformed people bought the lie as well.

They should all give Al Gore a prize for fooling the ignorant.  (Oh wait, they've done that already.)

We're on our way to an Orwellian existence like that in 1984.  It may take a few more decades, but we're giving in to it every day when we give up our freedom of choice.

We can stop it, but we have to be aware of what's going on and that requires being informed and vigilant.

  4. Well they shouldn't be. Incandescent bulbs are a necessity when one needs to see something's full range of colors. Fluorescents wash out colors and are unsuitable for makeup application, art, stage lighting or other similar practices. I noticed the change when I put them in my bedroom and tried to draw for the first time. They make it hard to interpret shading and as I said before tend to give objects and people for that matter washed out appearance.

  5. never

  6. what i am seeing in stores its going to be a matter of a few years before you can not buy one

  7. 100-watt incandescents cannot be sold after 2012, 75-watt bulbs after 2013 and 40-watters and 60-watters are out after 2014.

I saw on t.v. that a study was done and they gave a whole town the new bulbs and the energy use went up. because people weren't  as worried about turning the lights out when leaving a room a so forth. I would like to see a link on that if anyone knows where it is. I have all new bulbs in my house but I haven't noticed a saving yet.
