there were 2 high schools built with the name of Dunbar in Dayton OH...the first one was located on Summit st.

  1. The *original* site of (Paul Laurence) Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio, was on Summit Street.  The Summit Street site became the home of (Paul Laurence) Dunbar High School in 1932-1933.  Later, that site became MacFarlane Middle School; and the site has now been razed.

    (Paul Laurence) Dunbar High School is currently located on its *second* site:  2222 Richley Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45408.  This site was dedicated in 1963.

    A new building on the Richley Avenue site is scheduled to open in December of 2008.  The new building is located 50 yards in front of the current building.
