  2. It stradles several counties - hence the expression the 'home counties'

  3. London is a county within it's own right,  but is now more often called inner London, although  for ceremonial purposes, it is still referred to as the County of London.

  9. Which part of London?

  10. england. =D

  11. Several.

Peckham, Lewisham etc are historically in Kent. Camberwell etc were in Surrey. Bow in Essex and so forth.

  12. Greater London is one of the Ceremonial Counties for the purposes of the Lieutenancies Act 1997.

But the City of London is England's smallest ceremonial county.

  13. several counties dissect into London but the London area forms its own county called greater London.

if you look at a county map of England and look where London is it will have the greater London border drawn onto it rather than the edges of surrey, hertfordshire,Essex and Kent e.c.t

    hope this helps.
