Has anyone honeymoon in Canaries and which of the islands is best for honeymoon? Do you also have any reccomendations for hotels good for honeymooners? We prefer something by the see and not at a village somewhere.

Thanks!

  1. Lanzarote is fantastic.. and they have some fab four and five star hotels.. Puerto Del Carmen has the old town with fab restaurants and the new town with the nightlife.. Perfect place for a honeymoon and the weather would be fantastic if you like it hot.. High 30's

  2. Try cape verde. Not commercial, more scenic and up and coming

  3. Why don't you go somewhere more exotic for your honeymoon like say Maldives, or even the south of Italy.  that's where I would go for mine

  4. yep lanzarote is lovely we stayed  at puerto del carmen it was lovely and you can catch a ferry  to fueterventurer coralejo which you can see the golden sands of from puerto del carman wished we had done the ferry trip, if not why not try fueterventuer have a lovely time

  6. 5* La Palma Princess on the island of La Palma -  Thomson offer it as a Premier hotel so you get upgrade on the plane, 1st drop off in resort etc

  7. Me and my boyfriend had our first holiday abroad in Gran Canaria we stayed in a four star hotel called the Riu Vistamar just outside puerto rico. It was brilliant every room has a sea view its up on the side of a cliff and its really quiet. It was all inclusive too and food and drink were great. It said in the brochure only local branded alcohol but if you ask for smirnoff or gordons you get it. Theres a free bus every hour down to a lovely beach. For about 15 euros we got a taxi to Puerto de morgan which has lots of little romantic restraunts if you want to eat out. It was brilliant i would go back tomorrow.

  8. Go to Fuerteventura !! It´s amazing !!

  9. teguise golf in costa teguise. (think that's spelled right!)  Lanzarotte is a lovely island, can be very serene if you want it, or full of life if you choose to take that path. The hotel was lovely and only about 5 mins from the beach. Either way, i would go back in a heartbeat.  Don't let the cool winds fool you, they can be very deceiving and burn you like a crisp.

  10. I live in Tenerife, and have been to all of the Canaries. I personally would recommend Lanzarotte or Fuerteventura. Lanzarotte has more to do, but Fuerteventura has the most fantastic beaches. They are like you would imagine in the Caribbean. Fuerteventura is a lot less developed, and it would be easy to find a nice secluded spots on a beautiful beach. I'm not sure about hotels over there though.

I probably wouldn´t say Tenerife or Gran Canaria. They are the busiest, and probably more suited to a family holiday or for young single people wanting a few wild nights out. If you did choose Tenerife, by far the best area to stay would be Playa del Duque, most of the hotels in that area are amazing, although you will pay for it!

There is another Island called La Gomera, but you would have to fly to Tenerife then catch the Fred Olsen service to La Gomera. This island is very quiet and undeveloped. The best hotel there is called La Tecina, and has its own beach. I would only recommend this island if you want total peace and relaxation.
