  1. That's a big We Don't Know.  Probably at the edge of forests, bordering on savannah.

    You'll also find some people liking the seashore idea.  We like to wade.  It's likely we have ancestors who did too.


  2. Early man was evolved from apes that, from examples in the modern world, most likely lived in the rainforests in Africa. However bipedalism is not a particularly useful development in this biome so it is more likely that our ancestors lived on the savannah where bipedalism is more useful.
