  1. It was first started in the England by steam


  2. London, England, 1863 using steam locomotives.  First "deep level" trains had to wait till electric locos became practical and did not start in London until 1890.  The Paris Metro opened in 1900.

    The now world famous warning of "Mind the gap" was introduced in 1968 as a warning that there may be a considerable gap between the train door and the platform, this was particularly so with newer trains in older stations.

    The warning is now used at least in Bangkok and Singapore.

    In both cities there is a recorded voice message.  In Bangkok it says "So-and-so sation.  Please mind the gap between train and platform." in both Thai and English.
