  1. rain forests. the high volume of different species living in the same small area create the complexity.

  2. The food chain in a tundra starts with arctic plants such as tufted saxifrage, mosses and lichens, grasses and so on. Caribou or elk/reindeer eat these and they in turn are eaten by wolves. Pretty simple.

In a prairie it starts with your autotrophs, your plants, as it does in many cases, these grasses are eaten by bunnies and various herbivores who are in turn eaten by felines, coyotes, and other predators. Not too complicated.

In a coniferous forest the food web seems a bit more complicated to me personally than in the previous two examples. A much wider diversity of plants such as trees (not present in tundras or prairies due to insufficient rainfall and other factors), a much broader base of your food web, more decomposers, more herbivores around and more predators around too. You have black bears, brown bears, badgers, northern lynx, snowshoe hares...the list is pretty extensive.

Lastly, the rainforest, my pick for the most complex food chain though I could be wrong (but don't think I am). Unless your teacher is throwing you some type of trick question of some kind to trip you up this ecosystem has thee most assortment of autotrophs and plants as well as insects and herbivores, predators, decomposers, and so on. Gotta be this one. But if I'm wrong that is what you get for not just using your text book, I suppose.

  3. Rainforrests because of TIME & HEAT& WATER

Rainforrests have a very high canopy ,where the crowns of the trees are .like the red woods in vancouver island .

so there are many levels of bio diversity that can fit in ,like a big box of life ,

the conditions are optimal ,lots of heat & water ,lots of Humidity(day and night)

it is not sunlight, because rain forrests are half shade ,the sun only hitting the tops ,but a lot of heat is created .

and most important of all,it works all year around ,

no winter or autemn to slow things down or stop them .

life goes on day after day ,this is why growth in the tropics is so vigorous ,because it is all the time .

    BIODIVERSITY

    And everything follows everything else

    lots of different plants &Trees

    lots of different bugs ,

every body that eats the bugs ,

    everybody that eats the plants

    and everybodies predators
