In which would you expect the best transmission of light?

- hot gas

-a glass of very cold liquid

-colored cloth

I am thinking hot gas..But I think it's either that or a very cold liquid?

bcoz when we heat up any substance,its density decreases as molecules start moving more randomely due to which the speed of light increases as refractive index of air will decrease.

It depends on what they mean by "best".

A hot gas will allow the most light to pass through because there are fewer molecules to absorb the light. On the other hand, it might have density gradients in it which could refract the light (think heat haze).

Then again, a glass is round so that will also refract the light.

Go for hot gas.
