If I get felguard what should I invest my extra points in affliction or destruction? I've heard that dots sometimes arent good cause the mobs die before the dots do max damage I'm guessing this because of the felguard? Any suggestions would be helpful.

  1. after you have the felguard you are gonna want to put 7 pts into affliction. 5 to make corruption instant cast and two into lifetap because you will be using it alot. from there put 11 into destruction to get shadowburn. this wont be the highest dps build for instances but it will make the road to 70 the easiest. once you hit 70 and have 800+ shadow damage you will want to switch to full affliction with a 43-7-11 build, this is great for bgs and raids. 5 man instances not the best because like you said your dots dont do full duration, dot second target before first is dead to help dps. sl/sl for arena and for end game raiding (need to be well geared) hyjal, black temple and sunwell the highest dps is 0 21-40 where like the other person said you sac your succubus.

  2. you go affliction,

let your felgaurd take the damage and you let them die with DoTs

    best strategy

then use mana or hp drain to get your stats back up

  3. I'd go with a 0/21/40 build for max dps in any raid. It's great for instances and raid instances and does a ton of damage and big crits. You'll have the extra point is demonic sacrfifice for the +15% shadow damage. I've never seen a lock with that build that isn't in the top 3 people with the most damage. I've seen 4-8k shadow bolts

  4. ok i went affliction/demon spec

i maxed out desirable traits in affliction and the rest in the stat boosters in demon. i find it fun as h**l to see there life go down down down down. dont really like pure demon spec kind of pointless even though soo many poeple do it. but definatly have the beggining demon stats in your spec
