In wrestling lingo, what is a grappler?

  1. Grappling refers to the gripping, handling, and controlling of an opponent without the use of striking, typically through the application of various grappling holds, choke holds, and counters to various hold attempts. A Grappler is a highly skilled mat technician.

    I can't give you a well defined answer but Taz is what I think of a grappler.

    EDIT- some aspect of martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission using submission holds.
