In your city, is it legal to feed the parking meters for other people's cars?

I'm not talking about putting a quarter in the meter for a friend. I'm referring to putting money in the parking meters for complete stranger's cars when the meter has expired or is about to expire.

I dont see why not. doing a good deed the meter doesnt car who pays for why should the cops

i don't know of any city where it is illegal to put money into parking meters for other people's cars.  the city with the meter doesn't care who feeds it, they just want their money

It usually is illegal because the city wants to collect  money from a parking ticket
