  1. I think there are more open-minded people in todays society.  I am very much open-minded.  This is through experience and working in diversified-type services.

I see lots of people interracially marrying; I am one of them: hispanic american married to a irish-german american.

I see acceptance of g*y issues, and acceptance of children who are g*y in the school systems.  When I was a child, g*y children were unheard of.  My niece is only 13 and she has two g*y kids in her class that she acknowledges without problems.  This is modern, this is openness, this is growth of the mind.

  2. well, everyone i know that smokes weed are the most open minded people. Besides that most people think only their right and theres nothing you can say to change their mind.

i would say im very open minded :)

example: before i smoked i never believed in god or anything like him. anytime someone tried to make me believe..i wouldnt listen or i would just get mad. thenn i smoked and it was completley different. i actually listened to their side of the story and (you may not believe this) but i do believe in god. even after i sobered up. im not saying im a full on christian, but it makes me wonder whats really out there

  3. There are more close-minded people, because things that are "different" are scary.  Foreign customs, traditions, viewpoints, and ideologies often don't make sense to outsiders.  It is easy to dismiss these different things as wrong or inferior because they don't make sense.  It is human nature to rely on stereotypes when participating in society, these constructs contribute to close-mindedness.

I do my best to be open-minded.  All the classes I've taken in Sociology have helped me to see different points of view and how set people are in their ways.  This is my opinion based on my experience, and some people won't like it, but I find that people who tend to be politically or ideologically conservative and/or devoutly religious tend to be more close-minded.

    Good question.

  4. There are more close-minded people definately

  5. I've been through many years when I was quite narrow-minded and intolerant. My beliefs always correct - others are wrong, that kind of approach. I used to hate Muslims and their religion. I used to hate quite a lot of things. A lot of self-analysis, situations, encounters - end verdict, it's better to be open-minded and liberal than a bigot.
