  1. well in a war the Chinese would win because they have a tradition of martial excellence and they were more advanced in the technology's of war like the first to use bronze and steel in there weapons  and they pioneered amour the egyptians use alot of man power in there army's there army's were consisted of peasants not like the professional army's of the Chinese. like for example the Chinese army only trained for war they were always ready and well trained the egyptians would pretty much draft the peasants for war so its sending trained killers against a bunch of peasents

  2. Not even close the chinese would win

  3. egyptians

  4. Sure M A the Samurai were alright but the Japanese didn't take over china with Samurai did they. The Japanese were only so powerful in the early 1900's because the Americans supplied their weapons and technology (cannons, tanks). In my opinion the Chinese would win because of their extreme technological advantage.

They would start off with a large infantry force, to hold the Egyptian forces on the battlefield and no further into their land. They would then use their inventions (stirrup and saddle) to create a huge cavalry force and overwhelm the Egyptians. The Egyptians did use horses but they pulled chariots and were much slower, so the Chinese cavalry would win. The Chinese also had a crude version of the catapult and could also use them to crush the Egyptian forces. Also with their invention of gunpowder and fireworks (the likes of which the Egyptians had never seen) they could create massive explosions in the air which would scare the wits out of the Egyptians who would have thought it was black magic and could possibly have retreated.

  5. Neither, I think the Japanese.  The acient samuri were amazing.  Besides the Japanese took over China in the late 30's early 40's so they are not match.

  6. I believe the Chinese had more people, so they would probably win.

  7. it depends on your definition of ancient and where the battles would take place (Chinese wouldn't fair too well in the desert). but never the less i would put my money on the Chinese, as the Chinese have been able to raise some of the largest (manpower wise) armies in history.

  8. The ancient chinese because theres so d**n many of them.

  9. ancient egyptians were just in my opinion better:]]

  10. If you are talking about taking the Egyptian Empire from around 1400BCE against the Shang Dynasty of the same time.

Then yes, the Egyptians would slaughter them.  The Egyptians were quite advanced compared to the Chinese at this time.

People!  China didn't discover "Gun Powder" until the 9th century!  The Eygyptian Empire had been gone for almost 2000 years by then!  You can't compare the two.

The "Great" Egyptian Empire ended about 1000BCE, at that time China was still using mainly Stone weapons and some bronze.  Egypt had vast armies of Chariots and sophisticated Bronze weapons, and they were venturing into even more modern weapons at that time.

  11. All great civilizations eventually burn out.  Why this is depends on philosophy.  Times change and leaders aren't able to adapt, or not allowed by their people to change quickly enough to adapt.  Or civilizations grow arrogant and overconfident and they overreach.  It depends on how approving or disapproving you want to be of the civilization as a historian.

But the Egyptian civilization lasted the longest of any 'great' civilization.  Three thousand years!  It's hard to imagine.  There were great changes during this time.  At the end if its life, Egypt was the richest, most prosperous part of the entire Roman Empire, which also included most of Europe and North Africa.  It was the breadbasket of the world.  You can't do much better than that.

Still there's a lot to be said for China too.  Especially compared to our own civilization here in the US, barely 230 years old and apparently already on the skids.  The Chinese culture has had enormous influence on the Eastern world and even more influence on the Western world than we would like to admit.  I read somewhere that Johann Gutenberg's invention of moveable type is considered the greatest invention in history because it made it possible to disseminate information, build big libraries, etc.  But the Chinese had moveable type centuries earlier!  And they even invented the paper to print on! 8^)

    So it's hard to say.

  12. i think the chinese would win due to their technological advancements. gun powder and huge population equals victory.

  13. None.  Every "great civilization" ended up falling prey to some "barbarians"...

  14. I agree about the Chinese, but what about the Romans or the Mongols? They were forces to be dealt with the Romans conquered the Egyptians and the Mongols struck fear in the Chinese.

  15. Egyptians kicked so much *** in their prime

  16. Ancient Chinese would have had better weapons but the Egyptians also had a keen analytical mind so I would pick the Egyptians because their math skills and architectural skills were almost unmarched in the ancient world.
