Of course,if you can back up your opinion with figures you get a better chance at winning the 10 points.

I don't know the answer. That's why I'm asking; just curious!

  1. For tennis being the most popular sport, I'd say Russia for both men's and women's tours. There have been a few great Russian tennis players in the past but I think it really started to go up once Kafelnikov, Kournikova, Safin etc entered the scene. Check out the tours' websites and just count how many Russian nationals are ranked lol. Today there's all sorts of things they call the Russian players like "Russian brigade" for the women i think lol. There's even a documentary about it, "Anna's (Kournikova) army". It's like they have a production line for tennis pros lol. It's a way of living for them.

As far as which country has the greatest fans.. either Australia or Serbia for me. Everytime I watch tennis on tv or elsewhere there's always an overwhelming support for Serbian players.. especially with the trio (Djokovic, Ivanovic, Jankovic) out there currently, and of course we know Australia because of its grand champions since the 50's, just for the men you have Roche, Rosewall, Trabert, Laver, Sedgeman, Hoad, Emerson, Newcombe, Stolle.. lol it's a long list, even Rafter, Philippousis, the Woodies, Lleyton Hewitt.. so i guess it's like a tradition. It's a big sport down under

  2. France. They live it there.

  3. sebia

  4. The U.S.

  5. SERBIA. According to Djokovic in an interview... because of their (Novak, Ana, Jelena, Janko, etc.) stunning successes, tennis continues to flourish in Serbia. He said, tennis is the most popular sport in their country... where "Everybody wants to play tennis. Everybody wants to watch tennis." During Djokovic's week back home in Belgrade, everyone wanted a piece of him. The girls in Serbia also have pictures of the successful Ivanovic as screen savers on their mobile phones. The tennis trailblazers are feted like rock stars in their homeland, as proved when tens of thousands crammed into the city's main square to hail the trio after their French Open heroics. Same thing also happened when Novak won the Aussie Open where thousands of crowd gathered together to celebrate his victory. And recently, the country also distributed stamps featuring these tennis stars as a campaign for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
