Notice that I said your OPINION...that means there are no wrong answers. And that means no one should get any thumbs down. :)

Anyways...I've always thought that you should only have one team to devote your time and fanhood to...but that's just my opinion.

How about you?

  1. It is fine to be a fan of more than one team.  I like a lot of players from other teams but, I am really only a true fan of the Red Sox.  I can appreciate talent on other teams though and even respect teams but, I wouldnt call myself a true fan of any other team.

  2. I think so

I mean if they are local and they are not rivals why not?

I cheer for the A's becuase they are a young and upcoming team

And Billy Beane might be my faveorite GM in baseball, so I see no harm in that

And when I was younger i had a big passion for the Cubs, and I still sorta do

    I think its fine

    just dont cross the line...

  3. 2 favorites no.

I am a DIEHARD CUB FAN but I also cheer for the Red Sox> And I even Rock a Red Sox Hat from time to time. I have cheered for them since Bill Buckner got traded there he was my favorite player and I followed his career there!

  4. I love two teams, the White Sox and the Cubs.

But my favorite team is the White Sox because I always want the White Sox to win no matter what.  So in my book it is impossible to have two favorite teams, you will always love one more than the other.

  5. Is it okay to have more than one wife? More than one husband?

    Of course not.

So I agree with you. If you are truly a "fan", (which is short for fanatic by the way), you will spend all your energy devoting yourself to that team and will have none left for another.

  6. I do... =D

I was pretty much raised in Baltimore, so I do love the Orioles (especially Cal Ripken Jr.)...

However when we moved to Texas, I started rooting for the Rangers.  I usually don't have any problems; since they're not in the same division, they play each other, like, maybe three times a year at most.  When that happens, I cheer for the team that has a shot at the postseason.  If neither of them are contending, I just sit back, watch, and cheer for favorite players.  If both ever get to contend in the same season, I'll be rooting for the O's.

As it happens, the Rangers go play at Camden Yards for a three game series tomorrow.

I guess I will be cheering for the Rangers, because they do have and outside chance at the Wild Card.  (I'm not saying they will win the WC, I'm just saying they have a shot.)

And if anyone was wondering, that 30-3 game last season was pretty painful...  But on the bright side, at least it wasn't some random team like the Yankees killing the O's... It was my second-favorite one. ;-)

  7. I got alot of different teams i support, but its ussually only briefly, cause i am more of a fan of players than teams. Some people call me a bandwagon fan and this may be true, its as true as i am to my favorite players. I have just one main love for a team and thats the twins, i sport all their gear, but i also sport mets gear, and boston gear, and now dodger gear. I wear xxl and am trying to get rid of bosox gear, any takers. I know greta your a sox fan.

  8. i honestly thiunk if you have two favorite teams you either dont know what your talking about cause its just not right what happens when they play eachother you cant use that five year old excuse hoping everyone has a jolly f*cking good time

  9. No. I tried before, but I am always the Braves fan. I tried to like the Mets because I am a Piazza's fan. Turn out that the Mets fan are very nasty to the Braves team with all their winning at the time.

When you like a team, you give your life and soul to them. You onl yhave one life and one soul. nuff said.

  10. Absolutely.

    GO CARDS    BOO Red Sox

I still have a grudge against the sox after they destroyed my birds in '04 we should have destroyed them. we were the better team but the sox were hot.

I like the Cardinals and Angels

    but Cardinals all the way.

Your 2 favorite teams just can't be rivals.

  11. Ya its totally cool. you just need to be sure that they aren't bitter rivals and that people know you aren't a fair weather fan(someone who changes their favorite team to someone who is good and only because they are good.

  12. In Chicago your either a Cubs fan (yay!) or a White Sox fan (poopy faces) and it's fun to battle the other side at every opportune time.  Your either one or the other so I don't believe you should have more then one. As the saying goes " S_ _ _ or get off the Pot!"

  13. my main number one team has been, is, and will always be the Yankees

but i do tend to follow the Oakland A's as well, and i will cheer for them on any occasion EXCEPT when they play the yankees

this stemmed when Barry Zito first started playing for them, he was my favorite player, even signed an autograph for me at a Yanks/A's game a few years back. And even though he got traded to the GIants, i still follow the A's like they are my second team. I will even rock one of my couple A's fitted caps (EXCEPT when they play the yankees)

so i think it is alright to have two teams. most people who say yes will let you think that its only okay if they dont play each other at all, but i think its fine if they do play each other each year, as long as you dont go flip-flopping favorites based on who wins and who losses

so my opinion is that you can have two teams, as long as there is a hierarchy you ahdere to

  14. I only like one team. But thats saying that you can only have one best firend.

or one firend.  which is wrong. You can like lets Say Red sox and Cubs.

One is Al the other is Nl.  or you can like two al teams.

  15. For me I stay loyal to the Angels but I do like to see other teams do well. I'm a big baseball fan not just a passionate angel fan so I do have diff players that i like and follow from time to time

maybe those people with diff jerseys like the players.. :)

Basically I have respect towards certain ballclubs and there are teams that i enjoy watching but my time mostly goes to supporting the Angels.

i don't mind if other people follow other teams.. its okay :)

  16. If there rivals like Boston and New York no but if they aren't i don't see why you can't. Here are my two favorite teams...

Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox

  17. Well, I think it's okay.  I mean, you should ALWAYS take one team over the other easily, but I think it's good to have a "back-up" team.

I've always kind of liked the Red Sox, but I don't care about them NEARLY as much as the Brewers.

  18. I think it is okay except if it's Boston & New York or Cubs & Cardinals.  Yankees come first with me but I have players that I like from other teams.  I have a Baltimore Oriole's jersey of one of my favorite players, Brian Roberts.  I follow the Orioles since they are close to my hometown & only an hour away.

  19. yankees are my numberr 1 ... i also like the angels.. sad to say it but they are a good ballclub. my favorites on the angels torii hunter and fransico rodriguez... when its a yankees angels game i root for the yankees, but i wouldnt be surprised if i bought a angels tee sometime =]

  20. no that would mean you only like them because their good.

theres a difference in having two favorite teams and having a favorite and liking a team

  21. I mean if u have a favorite team anf then teams u like to see win that is fine but haveing two favorite teams depends on what teams u like I mean cuz u cant like the Red sox and Yankees or Cubs and Cardnals but yea its ok. Plus GO CUBS

  22. Absolutley!!

Example: Do you think all the people who became Devil Ray fans throughout the past 11 years were not baseball fans prior to 1998??

I am 26 years old. The Devil Rays became a franchise in 1998 when I was in high school. I liked baseball prior to that and I liked the Red Sox (I was actually born in Boston, but only lived there a short time). So now, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Rays, but also root for the Red Sox for the most part.....(I know, its a weird 2 teams to like).........BUT- My true loyalty will now always be with the Rays (I finally have a hometown team!!!), but I also want the Red Sox to do well because I liked them all throughout my childhood.

But when it comes down to the Red Sox or the Rays (which it will) I am 100% for the Rays!......

  23. Yeah, it's ok to cheer for as many teams as you want, there are no rules. Other people may try to impose their rules (e.g. you can't like the Red Sox and the Yankees) but it's entirely possible that someone who grew up outside that rivalry would like both teams for all their history maybe.

Remember, we're all baseball fans at heart. Don't judge other for who they cheer for, and don't let others judge you for you cheer for.

  24. yes. in every sport i watch i have two favorite teams.most of the time, they are in different conferences.and you can still be a die-hard fan even if you have another team on the side.

  25. I don't really have a problem with those people unless they all seem to be the best teams...ex. "I like the Red Sox, Angels, and Cubs"...then I get the feeling they like to jump bandwagons. Some people just like to collect jerseys. If I had a lot of money, I would probably buy tons of jerseys.

I support the White Sox over any other team.

  26. In my opinion I don't see any problem with rooting for two team.  I will use myself as an example.  I was born a Yankee fan.  At a early age I moved to Southern New Jersey, not far from Philadelphia.  Over the preceding years I found myself following not only the Yankees but the Phillies as well.

I was just as happy when the Phillies won the 1980 world series as I would have been if the Yankees had won.  I was actually at game 6 at the "Vet" with my oldest son, as the "Tugger" shut out Willie Wilson to capture their only world series championship.

  27. Can't see why not, The Red Sox are My #1 Team and since I live in Iowa and Not Maine The Cubs are my #2 Team, Good Balance eh.

  28. When you're an Indians fan, it can't hurt. Win or loose, I am a die hard Tribe fan but there are other teams I like to watch too. I like a lot of teams but remain loyal to my Indians.  =o`)

  29. Yeah, I think it's okay to have two favorite teams. I'm a die-hard Yankee fan, and have been for a long time, but I also like the Arizona Diamondbacks. If I had to pick, of course, I'm a much bigger Yankee fan, I have mostly Yankees apparel, but I have an Eric Byrnes D-Backs jersey.

  30. I'm fine with having multiple favorite teams to pull for as long as there is one clear-cut favorite when the teams play each other.

For example: I'm a fan of the Colts and Texans. I pull for Peyton Manning in all but two games a year. On those days, I'm all about deep steel blue, battle red, liberty white and the bull!
