Question:

In your opinion, isn't it WONDERFUL that Palin isn't a DC insider with lobbyists in the family like Biden?

Won't it be a breath of fresh air to get a newcomer in there, filled with integrity, honesty and a no-nonsense person who even fights against her own party if she senses corruption, just like she did in Alaska?

Here are some excerpts about the Biden ties:

Biden Family Financial Connections Detailed

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden is facing some questions about his family's lobbying and financial dealings.

The Biden family's connections to SimmonsCooper, an Illinois law firm that specializes in representing asbestos victims, is detailed today in a Los Angeles Times investigation by Chuck Neubauer and Tom Hamburger.

The Times reports that the firm promised to finance a hedge fund deal for Biden's son, Hunter, and brother, James (which ultimately fell through); picked the law firm of another son, Beau, to work on dozens of asbestos cases in Delaware; and that SimmonsCoopers employees donated about $200,000 to Biden's campaign efforts since 2001, making the company his top donor.

Hunter Biden is a Washington lobbyist. Beau Biden, the attorney general of Delaware, gave an emotional introduction to his father at the Democratic Convention last night.

The Times' report follows several stories this week documenting Hunter Biden's lobbying connections and financial dealings:

-- The Post reported yesterday that as a U.S. senator, Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks, including $192,000 for a suburban Chicago university, for Hunter Biden's clients.

And don't you just love that both McCain and Palin will fight those endless earmarks?

  1. I like her style.  She's a true conservative fighting for conservative values.  BO wants change and picked a Lib that's had 30 years of corruption under his belt.

Woo hoo, the Dems are out tonight!

  2. LOL...she's about to be the first vp nominee to be indicted. Great pick, John!

  3. Guys, remember, when Barack Obama was fresh on the National stage, the same love and affection that is now shown for Palin was shown for him.

    Same could happen to Palin.

    Never believe anyone.

  4. Im glad that someone with some middle class values is on board..

Biden??  Just "more of the same".... The old boys network of career politicians entrenched in Washington that is ruining this country.

  5. Do you realize that Joe's son, Beau, is leaving to serve in Iraq soon?  You are the most unpatriotic southern I have ever seen.

  6. And yet Palin used corrupt policies to try and get her brother-in-law fired.  She is tied to two other corrupt republicans.  When she ran for governor, her sole platform was anti-abortion, even for women that were victims of incest and rape.

Am I glad that McCain chose her as a running mate?  Absolutely!  He is down three more points in the polls.  He thought that by opting for a woman he would get the disenchanted Hillary voters...he just lost them.

  7. Where do you think the republicans get their money from?  When they lose in November there will be a lot of well endowed republicans leaving Washington.

  8. I love her.

  9. If you're Evangelical, pro-guns, anti-abortion, and live in a remote rural area then then Palin is the right person to step in if anything were to happen to President McCain.  Hopefully she will have learned by then about national issues and international relations by then and would put the country first.

If anything were to happen to the relatively youthful President Obama, most every American would feel comfortable that Biden would do the right thing, even if you didn't agree with many of the democratic issues.

Even the Republican pundits agree that McCain is taking a big gamble picking Palin for his running mate, hoping to satisfy the very conservative right.

  10. ROFLMAO A breath of fresh air...a neocon pro life republican married to an oil man...GOODNESS, yes, that would be a wonderful change...

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. So she's the only person on McCain's team who isn't a lobbyist or close to lobbyists.

That's just so wonderful - too bad she's so horribly unqualified to be a heartbeat away from the most powerful job in the world.

    McCain is a joke.

  12. She used $400,000 of taxpayer dollars to defeat legislation that the citizens of Alaska asked for - which was to ban the wholesale slaughter of wolves by shooting them from helicopters.

Oh, yeah, baby. That's JUST what we need in Washington. More corrupt politicians pissing away my money UN-DOING legislation that we asked for.

  13. I agree and  i think she is just what the country needs .

  14. Here we have a VP candidate who has identical qualifications compared to the other parties Presidential candidate. She is smart articulate and a great speaker.

Obummers supporters have given this point the highest priority in propaganda releases. He is a great speaker, in fact he is as good as Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Benito Mussolini.  He should be enshrined with all three of these great leaders.

  15. You mean isn't it wonderful that she will have no networks or allies and will be nothing but a pawn in the constant political power plays.

What sunk Carter was that he was an outsider and the Republicans basically ran whatever games they wanted to on him.

It might seem sad, but that is politics.

  16. We wouldn't want someone with education, and experience as President?  If you like uneducated presidents like Bush you will like Palin the beauty queen.

  17. Yes, she is definitely a breath of fresh air.

PS: I also find it funny how Democrats keep insisting that Palin was a bad choice and that conservatives won't go for her, yet all I hear is praise and approval of her from Republicans. They feel threatened by her and won't admit it. It's outlandish how desperate they are, trying to find any reason to trash her. She doesn't have a shady background like Obama, and that irritates them. It's amazing how they criticize her lack of experience, when Obama is running for president, not VP, and is even less experienced.

  18. YES

Plus she believes God created the Earth... Well so does Obama but she won't cut your head off like Obama was taught to do in the Madrassa.

  19. Ok ok ok!! all these bvtches mmhhmmm.. yes.. shes mine k thnx. my woman and HEAR this bvtches!! we are gettign married mmhmm!!!

  20. I'm surprise this all hasn't been covered more already.  I wrote a blog post on Biden's hedge fund ties last week here - http://richard-wilson.blogspot.com/2008/...

  21. But it sure does suck she is in the Oil Industry's pocket.  So like Biden, she is a w***e as well.

  22. I hope the RNC convention does not fall apart I hope its a good show.

  23. You betcha it is.  It wil be some REAL CHANGE

  24. She is very good for this country and all the sexist , liberals submissive females are afraid of her . Thus all the lies popping up on the net , all the new web pages full of propaganda B.S. they can't find anything on her so they have to make it up , Ridicules and petty , They are sweating bullets scared and it is about time .

  25. I do declare, maybe and maybe not, a breath of sweet lil old magnolias,   says this Alaskan gal!

*Wonders how Sarah is going to handle Rick Davis*??

Here's our local news right here in downtown Wasilla, aka "Palinville"

Alaska State Senate President Lyda Green (R): “She’s not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president? Look at what she’s done to this state. What would she do to the nation?” (Green is from Palin’s home town of Wasilla.)

Alaska House Speaker John Harris (R): “She’s old enough. She’s a U.S. citizen.”

Alaska Democratic Party Chair Patti Higgins: “In this very competitive election for them to go pick somebody who is … under a cloud of suspicion, who is under investigation for abuse of power. It just sounds like a pretty slow start to me. We need a vice president who can step in if, God forbid, something happened to John McCain. I don’t think she’s someone who is ready for that 3 a.m. phone call.”

Alaska State Representative Mike Doogan (D): “Either Sarah Palin has talents and skills we were not aware of”, or “John McCain fell down and hit his head”. He also called the prospect of Palin potentially needing to take over as President”pretty scary.”

And this from a sweet little Independent person (over 50% of Alaskan voters are Independent or registered non-partisan) who said she was stunned by the announcement and added, “But she’s not qualified!” She also said that she didn’t remember Palin standing up against the Bridge to Nowhere.

  26. Aren't you late for your Sean Hannity talking points briefing today?

  27. Yes!! And thanks so much for the link!

  28. I am SOOOO HAPPY that he chose Palin... people want change... she'll work with McCain to bring it!

  29. Palin is a breathe of fresh air alright in a polluted city like DC shes a god send

  30. I hate Biden but I don't like McSame either
