  1. I have a short travel history but so far:

Best Airports: Vancouver, Halifax, Toronto, Miami, Las Vegas

Worst Airports: London (old terminal, haven't seen the upgrades), Chicago

I've only ever flown on one airline, and frankly I was really happy. I just want to point out to you that 1/3 of the airlines on your "best airline" list are wholly owned by governments, and another 1/3 has substantial holdings by governments. When an airline is owned by the government, image is priority, so service and safety is high; whether or not the company turns a profit is irrelevant. Comparing government-controlled airlines to other airlines is NOT a fair comparison.

The remaining airlines in your "best" list are flown in parts of the world were demand and wealth is widely available... so the companies can quickly and easily make money.

The companies in your "worst" list are almost all privatised, and most (United, Delta, US Air, American, Northwest, America West) are in a shark-like market... where competition is very high, and the typical customer in these markets want low ticket prices, without service.

To sum up, comparing airlines between vastly different markets, different regulations, different expectations, and whether or not the company has an unlimited source of income, is totally unfair.

BTW, Air Canada is a great airline!

  2. Well personally, I'm completely in love with Air France =]  And I don't really care much for St. Paul, Tampa, Korean Air, or Cathay.  I also don't think United and Lufthansa deserve to be on the worst list.  By no means are they the best, but it's not some horrific experience.  Other than that, I'd agree with you.

  3. what do you think of BA.  worst airline i would have to say is Egypt air, so much hassle with them oh and turkish airlines.    my fav bmi, oh and ive gotta say loganair or my flatmates will hate me(theyre pilots for thm), eastern airways is annoying with its not ful refund policy on any tickets, flybe is ok but not that cheap anymore. klm is good to dubai, houston, so is BA.  Emirates to australia good.

  4. Vietnam airline is the worst of the worst!!! They delay their flights pretty much 10 times out of 10!! There was this one time, the flight was delayed for 8 hours in Sydney and I stuck there for 8 hours. When I got to Vietnam, it was 11PM instead of 4PM the original time

  5. The best i would said would be BELFAST INTERNATIONAL - its very small but is easy to get around and the service is very good 2.

Also in spain -Palma airport is sorta all right , needs some work though .... quite old looking.

  6. Best airport- El. Venizelos airport Athens, Greece

  7. Best airports include Hong Kong International and Singapore's Changi.

Worst airports would be Chicago due to the delays of scheduling more aircraft movements than they can handle.  I also was not impressed with San Francisco.  No good place to watch airplanes take-off and land.

Best airlines: Singapore is the best.  Cathay and EVA are nice as well.  JAL, ANA, Virgin Atlantic are very nice.

Worst: I hear that Air Koryo (airline of North Korea) is really bad.

  8. American Airlines is the worst domestically!  DFW is my least favourite airport (but that could be because its American's hub), and ORD is right up there too with horrible airports.  BA is wonderful for international flights!

  9. Best Airports - Dubai, Athens (Greece), Zurich, Hong Kong, Tokyo (NRT), Beijing, Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm, Vancouver, Houston (IAH), Portland (PDX), Toronto, Tel Aviv, Barcelona, Copenhagen.

Worst Airports - JFK, Rome, Milan, Mumbai, Dehli, Lisbon, Madrid, Las Vegas, Mexico City, Lima, London-Gatwick AND Heathrow, NY LaGuardia, Chicago (ORD), Miami, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Bogota, Caracas, LAX.
