My votes go to:

The Catcher in the Rye -- Salinger

Running With Scissors -- Burroughs

The Perks of Being a Wallflower -- Chbosky

And don't say like, Twilight, The Clique or Gossip Girl here.

  1. Definitely "The Catcher In The Rye"

  2. The Outsiders

    This side of paradise--F.Scott Fitzgerald

    Great Expectations

  3. The Catcher in the Rye

The Bell Jar (Really depressing book)

    Equus (It's a play)

  4. Catcher in the Rye for the win!

Perks comes close, but it's not as awesome as Catcher.

  5. Catcher and the Rye for sure.

I also think "The Body of Christopher Creed" is good, it deals with teen depression and bullying.

  6. One of the best ever from my college reading:

    Vision Quest by Terry Davis

John Irving says "The truest novel about growing up since THE CATCHER IN THE RYE.”

    AWARDS:

ALA Best Books for Young Adults

New York Public Library Best Books for the Teen Age

ALA Best Books for Young Adults In the Last Quarter Century

  7. The Catcher in the Rye and The Perks of Being a Wallflower are excellent teen angst books. I'd also add The Outsiders and Tex, both by S.E. Hinton.
