  1. Their intelligence and rationality.

  2. Sometimes out of necessity..they feel they have no other options.

    Sometimes out of complete boredom and lack of direction.

    Some have just a skewed view of the world and basically they are insane.

    Fascination for evil.

    I think it has nothing to do with IQ as many people who break the law are actually very intelligent.

  3. people are naturally corrupt. i think of it as it relates to my religion-christianity. God allowed sin into the world. it intices someone to do something illegal for reward/freedom. they get caught, and get put in jail. but if they get away, sin builds and they continue to do such and spread out their ways to the next generation. ask God

  4. This greatly depend on which law people are breaking;

    Speed Limits are laws , yet people who consider themselves as law abiding break speed limits every day, in this case it's mostly because they don't believe the law is relevant nor important, other types of law braking occurs for as may different reasons as there are laws, for some people it's to survive, think about the woman who steals from the market to feed her kids, and for others it's arrogance, the  F*&% The World types, and then you have the thrill seekers, "it's fun" is their thought proccess, I'm sure we can think of hundereds of other reasons....

  5. Stubbornness and kicks. Kleptomania, for instance, isn't about the materials, but about the kicks. You just feel a rush when you do something that's forbidden.

  6. it varies - some do it out of desperation; some do it just because they can; some do it because they think they're above the law; some believe they deserve to do it and some were probably just exposed to it through their environment when young and don't know any different.

    as for their IQ, they're typically not very bright - a professor and former state trooper I once studied under said the police counted on the inevitable stupidity of most all these folks.
