Question:

In your opinion, which iron set is more forgiving?

Im somewhat new to the golf game, and I'm looking at both the Adam's RPM OS and the Adams GT500 irons. I've tried them at the golf shop, but can't figure out which is better for me. I can hit long irons, but I want an iron set that is forgiving.

  1. The RPMs have a bigger sweet spot and are more forgiving.  You will notice that you do not hit the RPMs any shorter than the GT500s, but that's because the RPMs have a touch less loft on them.  Adams "tweaks" the loft on the more forgiving club in order to make them forgiving and "long".  For example, instead of the 9 iron being 44 degrees, it is actually closer to 43 degrees, which makes it an 8 1/2 iron.  So you seemingly hit it longer, but it is simply a different loft.

Cobra is the worst offender in the loft manipulation department.  However, the RPMs are still more forgiving.

this is exactly why you can't get decent answers here, morons like that answer, those are for mid-to-low handicappers, you probably suck at golf because you have clubs that are too hard for you to hit

AS FOR THE ? the RPM is better in my opinion

  3. There's no point in demoing clubs indoors. Find a demo day at an outdoor range and compare the two. You always need to see the actual ball flight to see how well you hit the irons.

  4. I cannot vouch for the Adams irons but the perimeter weighted forged or cast irons are the most forgiving. The clubs have a larger "sweet spot" so that reasonably good results can be attained from marginal hits . Forged blades, used by most PGA pros require grooved swings, repetitive in nature and improved by hours of practice and swing " tweeking" from Harmon, Haney and other swing gurus.

  5. Callaway Big Bertha Fusion = Most forgiving club ever

  6. the rpms by far

  7. For more forgiving set of irons, I would recommend GT500.

RPM OS is also a forgiving set, but it's not as easy as GT500.  GT500 has a wide sole design that makes them easy to hit and get the ball airborne.  Especially, the undercut channel shifts the club weight low and back, which promotes high launch angle.  Also, the oversize head maximizes the sweet spot.

Just make sure you pick out the right shaft for your swing.  GT500 is definitely a good pick for those who want to just hit it straight and get the ball up in the air easily.
