In your opinion, which is more important........ conquering hearts of the people or their minds?

You cannot really distinctly divide those two. For example,political propaganda is trying to force ideas into your mind,get you to believe things,using methods that will appeal to your desires or using your fears to control you.I mean even if you look at it through neurophysiology, parts of your cortex that control emotions are connected with the rest of it that has to do with "thought", so yeah...everything...interconnected...jee... I'm not a morning person.

Depends on y u wanna conquer, which'd lead wonderin what state you are in......

If its solely Monetary(business) and temporary, Mind's better,n perhaps easier to conquer in yeilding what u aspire,faster....

I think,it'd be the vice versa, if its spiritual, if its its explorin shades on human nature such as romance,relationships etc and Perhaps more beautiful, lastin, romantic or poetic and challengin.....

My opinion was my own; until I found that it was baseless i.e without the religion of the god of self; and because only; it could become harmfull to the self. .

In chapter 18 verse 72 of THE SHREEMAD BHAGWAT GITA; LORD SHREE KRISHNA GIVES THE STATUS OF " CONQUERER OF RICHES" TO SHREE ARJUNA.

it means the conquerer of the riches of the mind and the hearts of self; of both the self and people outside;

He gave such status to shree arjuna only because he had delivered to him those qualities and abilities of self which truly make him like wise; and he empowerd and enabled him with such qualities and abilities only; because he knew that such qualities, abilities, staus of self in self only can help shree arjuna achieve and realise the true goals of TRUE SUCCESS FOR HIMSELF; I.E. GOODNESS, VICTORY, GLORY, AND UNFAILING RIGHTEOUSNESS OF SELF FOR THE SELF.

My opinion has changed; and I thank the religion and the powers and abilities of the religion of god for mankind; for same.

Why conquer anything?  Yet the mind is logical and often tells people what they do, but they don't always do it because of the 'human factor'.  Emotions are stronger and more immediate than logic.  Influence the heart and the mind will surely justify the emotions felt.

Wow, now that is a good question, and a difficult one to answer.  I would say the ideal situation is where you attempt to sway both the heart and mind, but if you are just giving us one option to choose from, I would have to say the heart would be my target.

I like to consider myself a rationalist, and I like to think of my fellow man as being rational as well. Yet, I am a realist, and I have seen in my own personal experiences, and I have learned from my study of history, that many times the emotional component of our being tends to supersede the intellectual aspect of our lives. That is why atrocities like n**i Germany or the Crusades could ever take place, because people were guided by their emotions instead of their intellect. That is why religious claims, which are ostensibly improbable, still hold most of humanity hostage.

Hence, if I really were in a position where I could influence people, I would appeal to their emotions first, and then, if possible, try to bring their minds along for the ride.

Minds is the most superior (not similar with the most important) and the center of organs' systems.

Conquering minds means like once you getting into the center of one system you overcome the whole system.

So conquering minds is the most powerful.

I do not say it is more important, because again the factor of importance is influenced depends subjectively on the purposes, etc.

It depends if one is wishing to deceive or be true to their word.

If conquering a person (in a sense) then it must be heartfelt to reach the person on an emotional level, but if it is illogical or confusing in their minds then it can leave a person detached or not completely there.

For example people feel with their hearts, they feel sorry for people but often do not understand them, therefore if you wish to conquer it will not work by just reaching the heart.

Then if it is all to mechanical and no heartfelt passion or anything, all logic and no emotion, then it will also leave a person confused, bored, or un-relating.

In the case of being genuine, conquering both the heart and the mind are equally important because they work in unison, and without one the other will leave the person detached.

The mind/logic can't really be conquered.  It's just the part of your brain the figures how to do things.

The heart, is the part of you mind the desires.   If people help you out of love or fear,  they have in a sense been conquered.

So the only important thing is to conquer the heart, because you cannot conquer the mind.
