  1. There's no "opinion" about it, the Yankees. That's like saying "In your opinion, who has the most hits in baseball history."

  2. I would have to say my Arizona Diamondbacks. Look at what they have done in such little time.

  3. Without a doubt it is the New York Yankees. Not only have they won more championships than any other baseball team, they have an owner who is commited on winning every year. And, the owner is not afraid to take chances on up and coming stars as well.

If you're asking for a team that has produced the most over the last 5 to 10 years, I would have to say the Boston Red sox. Despite off-season trades and mid-season trades, they just keep on winning.

And for the record I am not a fan of either of these two teams, but I do call it as I see it.

  4. Definitely the Yankees.  26 World Series championships, 39 pennants, 15 AL East titles (9 in a row from 1998-2006). Changed names 3 times (Baltimore Orioles 1901-1902, New York Highlanders 1903-1912, and the New York Yankees 1913-present.) Played at the two most famous fields in baseball history in The Polo grounds and Yankee Stadium.  Hall Of Fame caliber players all throughout its history:

Pitchers- Whitey Ford, Rich "Goose" Gossage, Ron Guidry, Gaylord Perry, Lefty Gomez, Waite Hoyt, and Jim "Catfish" Hunter.

Infielders- Lou Gherig, Phil Rizzuto, Yogi Berra, Dill Dickey, Wade Boggs, Thurman Munson, Miller Huggins, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and Jorge

    Posada.

Outfielders-  Babe Ruth, Joe DIMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Bernie Williams, and many, many others.

You cant sit there and say any other team has a more storied past than the Yankees.

  5. St Louis Cardinals.  Stan the Man.  Lou Brock.  Bob Gibson.  Whitey.  Ozzie Smith.  Tony.  Albert.  Second most championships in baseball.  The most loyal fan base without bandwagon-riders on the planet.  They are what small market teams like Arizona, Tampa, the Marlins dream of being when they grow up.  And they don't need to buy success, they do it the old fashion way...they earn it.

  6. in a redsox fan but ..the most storied would have to be the tampa bay rays

  7. The Los Angeles Dodgers when they were Brooklyn they brought in Jackie Robinson if it wasnt 4 the dodgers there would be no A-rod,Papi,Manny.

  8. Oakland A's all the way. Yankees ya 26 World Series whatever. They had big names, but the Yankees just fed off all the work of other teams. A's have nine World Series, 5 in Philadelphia with Connie Mack, who managed for over 30 years. Then in Oakland, we had Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Blue Moon Odom, Ken Holtzman, Rollie Fingers in the staff. Joe Rudi and that catch, Reggie Jackson, Campy, Sal Bando, d**k Green, Gene Tenace in the World Series, d**n they were good. In 89 with Canseco and McGwire, thats something Im not so proud about, but the A's have quite a history. Now we havent won a Series in a while, but Billy Bean is a genius. Look at how Mark Mulder and Barry Zito are right now.

  9. The Yankees, even though I don't like them personally. They have 26 World Series titles and 39 pennants, and have had players like Catchers Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, Jorge Posada, and for a short time Ivan Rodriguez. They have had first baseman such as Lou Gehrig, Johnny Mize, Don Mattingly, and Tito Martinez. Their second baseman have included Tony Lazerri and Alfonso Soriano, shortstops like Phil Rizzuto and Derek Jeter, third baseman such as Alex Rodriguez, and outfielders including Babe Ruth, Joe Dimaggio, Mickey Mantle, Bobby Murcer, Reggie Jackson, Rickey Henderson, Bernie Williams, and others, and many great pitchers and managers. Besides them I would have to say the Cardinals, with players like Jim

Bottemley, Johnny Mize, Stan Musial, Albert Pujols, Joe Torre, Ted Simmons, Rogers Hornsby, Ozzie Smith, Scott Rolen, Ken Boyer, Enos Slaughter, Joe Medwick, Jim Edmonds, Willie McGee, Keith Hernandez, Orlando Cepeda, Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Lee Smith, Dizzy Dean, Bruce Sutter, Steve Carlton, Dennis Eckersley, and others.

  10. Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals. Storied does not mean favorite. Read the stories and you will see.

  11. The Yankees. The explanation is that there is no other conceivable answer that meshes with reality.

  12. That's easy.  The New York Yankees.  26 World Series titles, making play offs every year since 1995, haven't had a losing season since 1993, more players in the HOF.  Probably the biggest fan base in all sports.

  13. Definitely the Boston Beaneaters, with players such as Kid Nichols, Hugh Duffy, and Tommy McCarthy I don't even see an argument.

For real though, I believe in their time there, the Brooklyn Dodgers have one if not the most storied franchise.  I mean obviously the Yankees have their history, but for the period of time, the Dodgers played in the historic Ebbets Field, and never has an area been so defined by a sports team.  I mean the Bronx are not made by the Yankees, but Brooklyn literally was built by the Dodgers for the era. They introduced the first African American player in Jackie Robinson, and gave their fans a show every seen, receiving support that the Yankees never will.  Next Year finally came in 1955, and never have has a championship meant so much in baseball until 2004, and even then it wasn't the same.

    Players

Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges, Roy Campanella, Don Newcombe, Johnny Podres, Sandy Koufax (prior to LA), Don Drysdale, Carl Furillo

For that era no franchise has the history, the up downs, heartbreaks, and altogether triumph that the Brooklyn Dodgers had.

  14. The New York Yankees

  15. There really isnt a comparison. It is the New York Yankees. If you take the top 5 players that the Yankees have had (that would be a never ending debate right there) & compared just those players to every other franchise that alone would out due all of them. Just babe ruth alone trupms almost all of the teams. If you think baseball you think the Yankees, that is just the facts. Come on all those playoffs, all those championships, how many other teams would you have to combine to even come close to the winning ways of teh Yankees?

  16. New York Yankees. End of story.

They have 26 World Series Championships, 39 American League Pennants, dozens of great players, a bunch of Hall of Famers (including one star who transcended sports) and the most recognized sports logo in America, and possibly the world. (Behind Manchester United and Real Madrid.) Simple fact: You see someone wearing the hat with the interlocking NY, you know it's a Yankees hat.

Any other suggestion, frankly, is a joke.

  17. its gotta b yankees their the most sucessful team in all pro sports. they got the most championships n where ever country u go their are people who have on yankee caps. it can b in asia, africa, middle east thats how big the yankees are.

  18. Most storied? The Red Sox.  They have the most stories told about them.  Some of the stories are even true.

But if you mean "storied" as "greatest," then it's the Yankees.  Do the math.
