  1. Good question:

    1. Geddy Lee (of Rush)

    2. John Myung (of Dream Theater)

    3. Mike Gordon (of Phish)

Personally, I don't think flea is all that great.

  2. I love claypool, but my dad indoctrinated me to Primus' music fron the age of 5 or 6, so its in my DNA to like him. Cliff burton is a decent guitarist, but he got confused and bought a bass by mistake. I think Timmy Comerford from Rage is great too. And John Myung is a machine, along with Stu Hamm. Then theres the classic choces like Stanley Clarke and Pastorius

  3. Geezer Butler(Black Sabbath)

    John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)

  4. John Enwhistle

    Flea

    Cliff Burton

    Chris Wolstenholme

    Geezer Butler

    Les Claypool

    Geddy Lee

  5. *ahem*

    Cliff Burton ring a bell?

  6. Since you are asking who is THE best of all time, I would say, the 1 and only:

    John Entwistle from The Who

    Hands down.

Flea´s good, but he could come up in a category of one of the best of all time...but not THE best.

  7. John Myung is pretty good

i'd say victor wooten or steve digiorgio

Edit:  I'm sorry, but John Entwistle isn't hands down the best.  SatchJR has the best list so far...some great players that I bet most people dont know

  8. geddy lee for sure! and he's canadian, eh! he's from the same city i am from, toronto.

    flea comes second.

the bassist from rancid is third...too bad i don't know his name

  9. Paul Maccartney, Flea, Adam Clayton (U2), Colin Greenwood (Radiohead), Craig Montoya (Everclear), Micheal Ivins (Flaming Lips), and of course, Krist Noveselic.

  10. Steve Harris

    Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer

    Markus Grosskopf

    Tom Angelripper

i'm sure there's plenty more, but I can't think of them right now

  11. 1 Geddy Lee

    2 Chris Squire

    3 Jack Bruce

    4 John Entwistle

    5 Lemmy Kilminster

    6 Cliff Burton

    7 Geezer Butler

    8 Billy Sheehan

    9 Kenny Aaronson

    10 John Paul Jones

  12. sorry...but Flea is pretty overrated and should not be considered one of the greats...here's my votes

    Jaco Pastorius...best ever

    Victor Wooten

    Billy Sheehan

    Les Claypool

    Cliff Burton

Stu Hamm (personal fav, very underappreciated)

Geddy Lee (as long as he's not singing...sorry Rush fans...he is a great bassist though)

    Stanley Clarke

    Edgar Meyer

  13. My best friend, Blaik Ziegler :D
