In your opinion, who is a true hero and why?

This could be anyone, for any reason. After all it is your opinion.

Certainly one of my finalists is British F1 driver David Purley. For those of you who don't know who he is or what he did, watch this video on Youtube.

We could find some guts from this man. He is in my opinion the definition of brave, and heroic.

He risked his life, and fought harder than anyone to save another's life even if it was in vain.

So, you have mine. Now yours.

I believe a true hero is someone who is unselfish with his/her money. Who goes that extra mile to bring some much needed sunshine into people's lives. The people who just pay for your groceries at will, pay for your dinner annoymously, and do simple acts of kindness. They are all "heros", simple ordinary people with big hearts.

Because he used the oppressors strength against them and did not fight might with might but held a mirror up to our inhumanity until we sickened ourselves.

I like that he lived his truth.

Steve Irwin! He was a hero and always will be my hero. He dedicated his whole life to giving animals a better life and risked his life everyday knowing what could happen. He is a true hero.

I believe a true hero is anyone who puts their life in harms way to help another person.

That video is so sad. I can't believe no one else really tried to help him. That racer is a true hero I guess for doing something not even his fellow competitors would do. He put a mans life before the prize of winning.
