  1. Mauer.

  2. Brian McCann of the Braves

  3. i will disagree with all the maur fans

im gonna go out on a limb and say the chi cubs g soto

started the all star game hes extremely young and has so much potential and talent

he carrys himself with a passion and a certain flair that the mlb doesnt see often

    hes anxious to play

hes on in my opinion the best team in baseball

he hits for decent power and average and is amazing in clutch situations being in that he is in the heart of the order

although he does strike out a lot

  4. I'm gonna say Mauer Easily. he hits .300 or higher every year and hes only gonna get better and he can call a good game from behind the plate

    GO TWINS!!!!

  5. Joe Mauer, hands down.  Hits for a big average, calls a good game, good defensively.  If he ever hits for more power he'll be one of the best players in the league period.

  6. Joe Mauer. Good power, good speed, good average, good defense. All around great player.

  7. jason varitek, in defensive terms

  8. varitek and the molina brothers are the best defensive catchers.

maur, martin, then navarro are the best hitting catchers.

even with the errors i think martin might be the best overall catcher right now.  mauer and navarro are definately up and comers that could become the best in the next couple years.

soto is overrated and should not have started the all star game

  9. Navarro of the Tampa Bay Rays batting over 300 the entire year.

  10. Brian Mccann

  11. Not only do i think Yadier Molina is the best catcher in the Majors, but the most underrated player in baseball.  His average last i saw was .310, and a h**l of a lot of rbi's (42) considering hes not a power hitter and considering the spot he has in the lineup.  Not to mention his freaking amazing defense, which is the best in the Majors, no question.  Critics have been scratching their heads all year on how the starting pitching for the cardinals has been so well, if they ask me they should direct their attention to behind home plate.  The catcher/pitcher relationship is one you dont often hear about, but trust me its a very important thing to know that you can throw a pitch or two in the dirt with the bases loaded, and with yadier its no sweat.

  12. it's definitely joe mauer...he's one of the best contact hitting catchers in a very long time as evidenced by him winning a batting title, and he's getting much better calling games and working with pitchers as he gains experience

  13. Joe Mauer deffinetely he is not a big power hitter like victor martenez but he is a 300 plus BA consistentley he is a very good catcher not only at throwing ppl out but he is very durrable andknos how to block the pl8 when som1s trying to come home

Also dont listen to that 'O' guy Jason Varetek is not only the worst catcher he is also a horrible catcher lately and im a red sox fan and i can say Jason sucks

  14. joe mauer then probably geavono soto

  15. i think it was navarro but he is slumping alittle now

  16. the best catcher the past few seasons is Joe Mauer.

He throws guys out, catches a good game

    and hits like a mother

  17. In response to the first answer, I actually believe Russell Martin is OVERrated.  How can a guy that leads catchers in errors win the Gold Glove?

My opinion, Yadi Molina is not only the best in the NL, he is also the most underrated catcher in all of baseball.
