  1. greg maddux, willie mays ,hammering hank , tony gwynn , and the babe really good players and good people and role models except for maybe babe with his drinking problem

  2. Jimi Hendrix! ROCK ON, DUDE!!!

    ... wait...

    What was the question again?

    ...

  3. That's the easiest question I think I have ever seen. He has given millions of kids a GOOD Upstanding role model, He has help the local community more than any other player I have ever heard of. The Great Kirby Puckett

  4. Mickey Mantle.  Just thought I would throw that name into the mix.

  5. I am going to go with Cy Young.Look at this guys lifetime record. It can't be approached

  6. Roy Hobbs

  7. I'm inclined to say Joe DiMaggio or Ted Williams, for all-around players... but the best home run hitter ever never played in the Major Leagues... it was Josh Gibson of the old ***** League, check out his stats...

  8. I'm going to say Ted Williams, only 2 time triple crown winner, last player to hit .400 in a single season, 500+ home runs, career .300+ batting average. This player is a classic what if player and what i mean  by that is what if he hadn't missed all those years fighting for his country in 2 wars.  He would of hit probably over 700 home runs, def. hit over 3000 hits.  He holds the mlb record for on base percentage at .482. He is a 17 time all star and 2 time AL MVP.

  9. Greg Maddux

  10. babe ruth and barry bond LOL jk

  11. Babe Ruth.  He was a great pitcher before he became a great hitter.

  12. Roy Halladay.

  13. Bonds.?

    I Think Not.

Babe Ruth he did it with Beer not 'Roids.

  14. Roy Halladay?

    hah give me a break.

    Lou Gehrig or Ted Williams

Babe Ruth, Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, Willie Mays, or Jackie Robinson close behind them.

  15. Well I think like the older days when baseball was just plain American league vs National league. The teams in those early years were of players that were supposed to be. That difference can be noticed now days with teams playing a lot of wannabees who all of a sudden are but not really deserving to be where they are.  I'm all Boston so I vote Ted Williams. There'll be lots of homers to be hit but no batter will ever play a last game of the baseball season to keep a 400 batting average. He got his base hit that day to be the last of the 400 ba hitters in the history of baseball. 401. Oh yeah. Guess who was voted mvp that year by the sports writers? New York Yankee centerfielder Joe Dimaggio. Boston Globe sports hated Ted and they voted for Joe.

All through his baseball career Globe sports writers never did like Ted that much. Proves you can be great without being popular once your out there performing and doing your best on the field. I like the question. There are a lot of nowday players that probably are in the greatest player catagorey. Its a lot like comparing apples with oranges? What about Pete Rose? How about Denny McClain the last of baseballs 30 game winner? You can count the great players in the history of baseball on your fingers and toes is your best answere to the greatest player ever. Good luck picking a best answere and Psst!!! by the way Barry Bonds really is an excellent vote. :-) Cheers

  16. Willie Mays .

*Note the punctuation which followed, above

  17. Roberto Clemente

(note: for the person who chooses to "thumb down" Jackie Robinson & Clemente -- GET A CLUE)!

  18. vladimir?

    HA!

    (btw...ur yanks logo is Blasphemous...hee hee ;-)

  19. jackie robinson (the only one i know )

  20. For me, it's a toss up, Musial or Williams, and since you're an Angels fan, I'll throw Rod Carew (He stole home 17 times!)

  21. all-around i'm going to have to say ted williams, which is blasphemy because i'm a yankee fan...but he was the most well rounded player in the history of the game, he could hit for average and power and did it consistently for so many years

  22. Willie Mays

Puck was one of my faves as well, in 8th grade I got a crew cut, put some charcoal on my face, and the biggest pillow I could find under a Twins jersey for Halloween :) If that isn't hero worship

  23. HAMMERIN' Hank Aaron!

  24. Shoeless Joe Jackson of course
