  1. wome have changed a lot of literature, but a lot are also doing kids books. take a look at harry potter.

  2. I think they have changed alot considering how history has treated women in the past. Women who wrote some times could only do so secretly so their husbands would not feel so threatened. Literature shows how women tried to  change stereotypes that were etched in their background during their day and how they wanted to break the mold to be free to write about what was important to them. Now women are writing about many diverse topics. Look at Margaret Mead and what she added to her journey's in life and what she learned. Literature is now richer due to our many women author's like herself.

  3. Women added another perspective of social commentary, particularly when the crucial timing of progressivism came around. Jane Austen, Edith Wharton, Mary Shelley, Gertrude Stein, etc., all helped to develop the nature of writing to question the society of the day.

  4. Because the widespread education of women was not common until the nineteenth century, the arena of British and American literature was once largely male dominated: the role of women was most often to inspire rather than to create. Since then, however, the literary contributions of women have become increasingly important. More and more women have become storytellers, poets and prophets, the authors of dreams and ideas--the voices to whom we listen.

  5. Reading books written by women where the protagonist is female gave women a voice  and really portrayed female characters perspective more accurately than perhaps, if it was written by a man.
