  3. My top ten all time welterweight list reads like this:

    1. Sugar Ray Robinson (the best middleweight as well as the best all around boxer of them all must rate just as high at welterweight.

    2. Thomas Hearns, the hardest hitting welterweight of all time.

    3.  Henry Armstrong, three weight class champion, and true all time great.

    4. Pernell Whitaker, the most underrated all time great hall of fame fighter in the history of boxing, slick southpaw and the complete package.  Another spectacular lightweight almost the equal of the great Roberto Duran who moved up and retained his greatness.

    5. Sugar Ray Leonard, multi weight champion & all time great, artificial sugar was almost as sweet as the real thing.

    6. Roberto Duran took Leonard's welterweight championship from him in Montreal and another all time great multi-weight champion as well as the greatest P4P 135 lb. champion of all time.

    7. Kid Gavilin, light hitting welterweight champion more famous for his losses against Robinson and Olson beat the likes of hall of famers Carmine Basilio, Beau Jack and Ike Williams.

    8. Donald Curry, possibly the greatest amature record of all time, and a gifted boxer with fearsome punching power.

    9.  Jimmy McLarnin, old school great who got out of boxing at his peak and never looked back, another complete package.

    10. Felix Trinadad, fearsome puncher, spectacular finisher who could end a fight in the blink of an eye.

Honorable mentions, Meldrick Taylor and Oscar DeLa Hoya these two could easily replace any in the 7 thru 10 of my list but the top 6 are about as good as it gets at welterweight.  No modern currently active welterweight cracks my top ten list.

  4. 1. Mayweather

    2. Margarito

    3. Cotto

    4. Berto

    5. Mosely

    6. De la Hoya

    7. Judah

    8. Quintana

    9. Williams

    10. Clottey

Wow - even if lists vary a bit, matchup any two of these guys and there is potential for an awesome fight.

  5. I have Cotto, Maragarito, and  Mosley ranked ahead of PBF because he has been reluctant to fight them.
