I've always traveled with united airlines internationally and domestically and i didn't have any problems.

  1. I like United.  Usually anyone that is part of the Star Alliance has pretty good service.  I flew Mexicana back from Mexico and that was one of the best flights I ever had.  I don't think they are part of the Star Alliance anymore though.


  2. Air Nigeria. No crashes in two weeks and always an exotic fragrance in the cabin.  

  3. I'm glad that you didn't have any problems. However, don't confuse "no problems" with "good". My minimum expectation is that they can get me to my destination without totally s******g everything up. That does not impress me. A really good airline exceeds my expectations. It doesn't just barely meet them.

    In this year's University of Michigan consumer satisfaction survey, airlines were ranked as one of the worst industries for customer service. (Even the IRS was ranked higher than airlines!) Among airlines, consumers rated United as the second worst domestic carrier. Only US Airways was lower.

    In surveys of frequent travelers, it is rare for domestic US carriers to even make the top ten list of best carriers. In contrast, Singapore Airlines is always rated at or near the top.

    I've flown United several times on international trips. Even in business class, the inflight service does not compare to the better foreign carriers. Usually, the flight attendants were inattentive at best and acted like they'd rather be somewhere else at worst.

    On your next international trip, try one of the better foreign carriers. Compare the food, inflight service, and how you're treated to your experiences with United. I'll bet that you'll be very surprised.

  6. I don't want to downgrade any good airline, but in my opinion Singapore Airlines has also excellent records like good service, good carriers & safe.
