Losing a fight to someone significantly younger(+6) than you with a higher belt rank...or losing to someone older than you with less experience.

  1. Neither is worse. As long as you learn from it and grow, losing a sparring match will have absolutly no effect on you. In fact many times we learn much more, and it pushes us harder, when we do lose.

In the grand scheme of things losing a game is just another experience. It's how you handle that experience that will determine who you are.

  2. Losing to the one with less experience. Age doesn't even compare.

  3. Definitely losing to the person with less experience. I did a martial arts course way back, with a variety of aged people. The strongest and most aggressive fighter there was an eleven year old girl, she competed at national levels and everything so age doesn't matter.

  4. First option is more embarrassing

  5. Neither is worse because you are gaining knowledge with every experience.Always have respect and be ready for the experience.

  6. Never attach your self to the outcome of a situation. Win or lose does not matter. To fight for a good reason and to fight well matters.Concern for outcomes is for the weak of spirit. It will steal your courage.

To lose a fight is no disgrace; to fight for the wrong reason is a disgrace. Detach and become one with a warrior spirit.

  7. loosing is itself worse....

  8. No, nothing is worse. You will get experience. It is good to get experience. When you will get it,you will improve your martial art.

  9. I think losing is a great learning experience, so there is no "worse" in these situations.

  10. Neither if you use it as a learning experience.  Some people are just better at sparring than others.  Some are better at forms.  Some are better at teaching.  No two students are the same.
