  1. Adam Graves (at least in my lifetime)... i was pissed when Jagr broke his club record for most goals/season as it was the only credit he ever got for being a hard working, great player.

@ Boomaus: I remember McCarthy as a Ranger for a while as well... i friggin LOVED that guy... pure energy

  2. I would have to say Mats Naslund.  The guy was a point a game guy but never got the respect he deserved because he was a small European who played in Montreal in the 80's just after the glory years of the 70's.

Even god would have been underrated after those teams.

Bonus if you send the Tequila please send Zantac too.  Love the stuff but it does not love me.

  3. Sammi Kappenen

If all the Flyers played with his heart and determination since he became a Flyer they would be calling Philly..... Hockey Town

  4. canucks - cliff ronning

  5. Chris Osgood, no question.  We shafted him after one bad season in 2000-2001, and since then we've had a slew of horrible goaltending from big names and big disappointments.  Now that we have Ozzie back (we won in 2002 despite Hasek, not because of him) victory will again be prevalent in Hockeytown.  Not many people know that he holds most of Detroit's goaltending records and is in the NHL all-time top 20 in almost every aspect of goaltending.  Chris Osgood has always been harshly criticized, largely on behalf of our own fans (that always pissed me off) and has never been given the credit he deserves for being a top tier goaltender.  He has never had a losing record, even when he was shipped off to St. Louis and later to NYI, neither of which have provided much support in front of their goaltenders as of late.

  6. When he was with the Flyers I have to say Sandy McCarthy. I don't know what it was, but I loved the guy. Hated to see him go.

Now, as far as shots of love, it could ALWAYS be worse Joe..atleast it's not something like... "Who would your favorite NHLer like more-Britany or Christina".

The day I see that one is the day I claw my eyes out.

Well, Joe- I once read an article where the interviewer posed that same question to Jack White who said, "I think I'll just have a cup of tea".

  7. Adam Graves or Esa Tikanean

Both were incredibily vital to the Rangers 1994 cup run, and were overshadowed by Messier, Leetch, and Richter.

  8. Detroit- Since Osgood is the obvious choice, I'll answer for Boston---

Last year it was Dennis Wideman. He can carry a play and plays consistently well on the defensive side of things. I'll also mention Andrew Ference. What a heart that guy has.

Historically, O'Reilly, even though he started to get props later in his career.

  9. Well, for the Leafs...they have a long history to go through, but I'd say Chad Kilger was a pretty underrated player.

He could hit, stand up for his teammates and himself and chip in a goal when needed, and did I mention hit?

Other underrated Leafs players of the past:

Leaf fans, even if you hated Belak, I think he was underrated very much so. Yeah, he might of got 0-3 points a season (except for those 9 points he got back in 2003), but he was a tough guy, and I know a lot of Leaf fans would love him back because we don't have anybody tough.

Back in the 90's, I think Peter Zezel was pretty underrated. He was a good player - the Leafs should of kept him longer.

Drake Berehowsky - Yes, he may of never turned into the defenseman he was projected to be, but he did turn out to have a decent career. He became more defensive and less offensive, but was still able to provide some offense from time to time.

No, thanks, Joe, I don't drink and don't plan to(and I'm under 21), but if you're willing to give me something else I'll take it?

  10. In the history of the Panthers. I would have to say the answer is Robert Svehla. Quiet , yet strong defenseman. Not very flashy. But always made an impact. Let his play speak for him. Was rock steady for the defense when needed. Not to mention being able to chip in a rather timely goal here and there. . Send the tequila down here fast too.

  11. Pronger.  Frankly, the Blues have been below average since he left.  People label him all kinds of mean & nasty things.  He did take the Oilers and Ducks to the finals.

  12. Cliff Ronning, i gotta say good choice. For my team I would say Ryan Malone....oh wait, scratch that now with his new team and fancy overrated contract and I have to say Max Talbot or Pascal Dupuis.

  13. Pelle Eklund.  Ok, so he wasn't the toughest guy out there, nor the most emotional.  That's why he went somewhat unnoticed.  Excellent penatly killer and play maker.
