  1. If I like it and it doesn't hurt anyone else, then it's good.

  2. I determine what is good by two ways.  My belief system and through the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

My belief system is what I have learned to be true through my own life experiences.  My religion has played a great role in developing my belief system of what is right or wrong.

The promptings of the Holy Ghost are the whisperings from God to you of what is good and right and what is evil and wrong.  These promtings may also be connected with or be what is called the conscience.

These two things not only help me determine good from bad, but help each person figure out for themselves what is good or bad.  Sometimes we do not want to listen to our belief system or the promptings of the Holy Ghost.  When this happens we have to learn the hard way that choosing good is a much better idea than choosing bad.  Hopefully along the way a person does not get involved with something that wraps its chains around them so tightly that they can't escape.  When this happens, even if they know what is good, it is hard to muster up the strength to break the chains that bind them and escape.

Often times a person will try to convince themselves that something that is bad really is good when they know that it is not true.  They do this because it is easier to justify their actions instead of changing them.

  3. What is humane.

  4. Anything that doesn't harm or have the potential to harm the planet or the flora and fauna on or in it.

  5. The Bible is the source of absolute truth

If what you do Glorifies God, it is Good

  6. I define good first by who it hurts. If it hurts no one, then it is acceptable. If it benefits someone, then it is good.

I think that not doing evil (by evil I mean immoral, or bad things in general) is simply a matter of ensuring your actions do not restrict the rights and freedoms of others. To do good, it is not a good action unless you sacrifice. "The poor man who gives his last penny gives more than the rich man who gives a thousand dollars."

The most valuable thing we have is the right to choose: The right to choose religion, choose cars, choose lovers, friends. The right to choose to work or not.

We have the right to say what we will, believe what we deem correct. The right to be fairly compensated for our efforts.

So long as it infringes no one else's rights, it is not bad. If it helps others, it is good.

  7. We Jehovah Witnesses follow the bible and the examples in it.

One of the scriptures that helps us out a lot is at (Galatians 5:19-21) it Reads " Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleaness, loose conduct, idolatry, practice of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger,contentions,divisions,sects,envies... bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God's kingdom.

    This scripture is very helpful

  8. "Good" is something or some action that benefits yourself or others. "bad" is something or some action that hurts yourself or others. Thanks for asking!

  9. I use the absolute and perfect "plumb line" of God's Word to set the standard.

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. "  (Psa 19:7-10)
