In your own understanding, what would be the effect in networking if one of the layers is omitted? Why?

It one function/layer is disable and it won't be usable



because

without application layer you won't be able to use the presentation layer as it makes request of what is needed

without the presentation layer you won't have files/format to transport to the application thus no data can be understood by the receiver

without session layer you won't have a reliable connection

without transport layer you won't have connection

without network layer your packet don't know where to go

without datalink layer your physical layer will be useless, and no basic connection can be made

without physical layer you won't even have an ethernet card, hub or power to do any of the above layers.
