You can choose best or worst...or both...I don't care either way.

But if you're a Red Sox or Yankee fan choose something other than the Babe Ruth sale...since it was just that...a sale.

  1. Yankees fan.

Best (other than Babe Ruth): Probably acquiring Paul O'Neill for Roberto Kelly.

Worst: Trading away Jay Buhner or trading away Alfonso Soriano.

  2. Wow, you're about the only one besides myself who seems to remeber that Ruth was in fact sold.

Worst trade for the Sox-  Eric Gagne.  Wahtever we gave up it was too much.  Clearly a case of subtraction by addition.

  3. dodgers getting manny.

  4. Trading Alfonso Soriano for Brad Wilkerson

Ron Darling and Walt Terrell to Mets for Lee Mazzilli

and of course Sammy Sosa to Chicago for Harold Baines

  5. as an a's fan the best trade in my opinion was the mulder trade

we traded mulder and we got dan haren, daric barton, and kiko calero

barton looks like he could be good in the future and kiko was good for a while

haren was traded for dana eveland, greg smith, carlos gonzalez, and three prospects. greg smith, dana eveland, and carlos gonzalez are already producing at the major league level (eveland just got sent down though)

so basically we got nine good players for mulder who is currently not producing anything

  6. How about the Cubs getting Ryne Sandberg and Larry Bowa for Ivan DeJesus ?

  7. When the Dodgers traded Paul Konerko away, a perennial power hitter.

  8. As a lifelong Pirate fan, there have been WAY too many bad/terrible trades to mention. The thing that bothers me the most is that if we did get anyone good in the recent trades, management would just get rid of them!!!!!!!!!!! You can not fathom how frustrating it is to be a Pirate fan now!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Best...Johan Santana for prospects like Nick Blackburn or Glen Perkins was one of those pitchers and Carlos Gomez...and they said the Mets would be better MUHAHAHAHA

Worst?....I can't really think of a horrible trade it was either a fair trade or for a little better

  10. I do not know if it was a trade or just free agents walking, but I would say letting La Russa, Isringhausen, and McGwire leave for St. Louis. The best would probably be the Haren for Mulder deal. That netted us an ace.

  11. For the Phillies, one of the best was when they got Bobby Abreu from Tampa Bay for Kevin Stocker. The worst was probably when they traded Ferguson Jenkins to the Cubs for two guys I never heard of.

  12. As a Royals fan, I have been disgusted how they have traded away Carlos Beltran for John Buck, who is great behind the plate but nothing great as a hitter.  Also, we have traded away Jermaine Dye and Johnny Damon, who have went on to successful teams.  Hopefully the Royals have learned their lesson and grown up!

  13. i think the red sox are gonna really miss manny even though they couldn't really do anything about it

  14. Indians Fan

    Good trades:

Recent - Bartolo Colon, Tim Drew to Montreal for Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips, and Lee Stevens

Not so recent - Von Hayes to Philadelphia for Manny Trillo, George Vukovich, Jay Baller, Julio Franco, and Jerry Willard.

    Bad trades:

Recent - Brandon Phillips to Cincinnati for Jeff Stevens

Not so recent - Rocky Colavito to Detroit for Harvey Kuenn

And since Greta is a big Red Sox fan I'll list a good and bad trade for Boston.

Good: Traded Heathcliff Slocumb to the Mariners for Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe

Bad: Traded Jeff Bagwell to Houston for Larry Andersen.

  15. Mike Piazza, Pedro Martinez,

  16. Worst -- Bobby Abreu(acquired in the expansion draft) to the Phillies for Kevin Stocker

Best --  Victor Zambrano to the Mets for Scott Kazmir.  Thank you NY Mets

Delmon Young and Brendan Harris to the Twins for Jason Bartlett and Matt Garza is looking pretty good, too

  17. Angel Fan here--

Worst, trading for injury plagued Mo Vaughn.

    Best-hopefully the Teixeira trade!

  18. Worst- Alfonso Soriano for Alex Rodriguez since A- Rod  cant hit in the playoffs or with runners on base!

Best-  Paul O Neill for Roberto  Kelly

or Ivan Rodriguez for Kyle Farnsworth

  19. Well, there really haven't been any standout trades made by the Brewers in the past, but I think that the trade for CC will end up being the best anyway.

  20. getting lou brock for the cardinals id say

  21. SF Giants for life you forgot to inclue Boof Bonser in there haha. We lost 3 guys for pretty much a guy who hated San Francisco in AJ Pierzynski!

Best trade- wasn't Bonds since we actually signed him. So, I'm going to have to say Matt Williams for Jeff Kent, Jose Vizcaino, Julian Tavarez, and Joe Roa as well has 1million dollars in cash. Kent had some monster seasons with Snow and Bonds in the late and early 2000's. =[, I miss those teams.

  22. Whatever we did to get Barry Bonds

    thats a no Brainer

Worst: Trading FRANCISCO LARIANO and JOE NATHAN, to the twins.

    that still haunts me
